Good Sam Extended Service
Took the cat into a local dealer for service under Good Sam Extended Service Plan. Needed water tank and water pump fixed, slide out breaker replaced and Concertone replaced because it didn't play cd's (imagine that). All was authorized by Good Sam. When we picked up the Cat, Good Sam refused to pay for the radio because it had been replaced one year ago to the day by Camping World to when it was called in for authorization. Out of pocket was $625.00, $200.00 deductible + $425.00 for new Concertone. I am going to fight it further with Good Sam because when I called they Gave me a date of May 2010 as the authorization date. I asked the rep on the phone why they could pick and choose the dates to use on their end and not on mine. Answer "that's the way it is".
I am not going to let this issue rest as I think that they are responsible for the radio also. The funny thing is that I got an email from them saying "Congratulations on renewing your extended service plan". When I asked about that I was told that it meant that it was time to renew. According to the English that I was taught in school it meant something different. Oh well, now we have modern English to go along with modern math.

We read about the GSES, and thought it might be a good idea... but we didn't buy. Have you tried talking with a supervisor - or was that the supervisor who said "that's the way it is"?
Sounds really fishy!

It does to me also. It was not a supervisor. The funny thing is that when I called the first time the gentleman said that Camping World had not even invoiced them. I am trying to locate my receipt to verify the dates.

Re: Good Sam Extended Service
If it was all authorized by GS before repairs were made, then they should pay for it. Do you have that message where they told you it was authorized? Sounds like a contractual agreement to me.

Re: Good Sam Extended Service
Bob, I would write a letter to the magazine Trailer Life addressing it to those guys that work when there is a dispute between the customer (RV'er) and the dealership or in your case Good Sam Extended Warranty. I have read alot of those and to tell you the truth most of the ones I have read I figured no way the customer will prevail. Then I read what the help line for trailer life was able to do and most of the customers win...
It's worth a try, I think you might win going that route....
Good Luck!

This is ultimately what will decide your fate on this one. If it isn't documented, its worthless.
Hope the best for you Bob. But like you, I wouldn't hold my breath either.
On the bright side, at least you've got another working Concertone for a few more months.
