Table Rock Lake State Park

Post by Richard Mondavi on 8/2/2011, 12:54 pm

We will be heading down to Table Rock Lake State Park on Sunday and staying for four days. I hope the weather cools off a bit by then since our campsite is in full sun. Besides, I’m afraid we might look a little silly building a campfire in 90 degree temperatures. Once again I’ve managed to snag one of the full hookup sites for our stay. I like staying at the state park because it’s close to Branson, but far enough away that traffic isn’t a nightmare. Of course it doesn’t hurt that the state park is right on the lake too. I get a “senior” discount of 2 bucks a night off the camping fee. That’s less than a 10% discount on a full hookup site….Whoop-de-doo!

The one show I definitely want to see this time is “Noah, the Musical” at the Sight and Sound theater in Branson. This is the last season for this show so if I’m ever going to see it, now is the time. Everyone that I’ve talked to that has seen that show, raved about it.

If anyone is in the area, stop by the state park and look for my Wildcat in campground 2 and say “hi.” I’m sure I’ll be able to provide a cool beverage or glass of wine.

Table Rock is one of our bucket list destinations. We have driven by it a few times but never had time to stop and look around. Beautiful vistas for sure. I'm sure you will have a great time.

We camped at Table Rock about 35 years ago. We haven't been back, but would like to go there again. I imagine it has changed a bit since then. sunny That's where I found one of my cast iron pans.

As hot as it has been here, any fish I catch will probably come out of the water pre-cooked.

You really wouldn't be able to recognize Branson the way that town has grown. The one nice thing is that Branson is still a family friendly area.
The state park itself hasn't changed too much, but campground 2 had some sites upgraded to full hookups a couple of years ago. Many of the campsites in both campgrounds now offer 50 amp electric.

Here's a pic of our campsite at the state park last year. The sites are concrete and very level.

lol!

I checked the weather for this weekend. Doesn't look promising for a campfire. Hope you have a blast. Please include anything that you found interesting/fun with your pics. We may plan a trip when it's cooler.

Thanks
