Bedroom lights.

Bedroom lights.
30RLBS has two reading lights for night time reading in the wonderfully long and soft bed. Mine decided to die.
The wires are under the bed and does anybody know where they go from there? I am still looking and still looking. All fuzes are operational. No red lights.

Re: Bedroom lights.
Scruffy took out one of those lights and replaced it with a 12v fan. He didn't have to trace any wiring for that, though.
When he put the 12v fan under the cabinets at the back end, he had to fish around in the little space between the outside bottom of the cabinet and the false bottom on the inside. I would imagine that the wiring goes inside an airspace over to an airspace in the side wall, and then down to under the bed. If you remove a light and tug on the wires, you might find some answers.

Re: Bedroom lights.
Well the lights are fixed and the more I work with the 12 volt system on my trailer the more I am amazed. The wires through out the trailer are white with a color. Normally in a black and white system white is hot and black is ground. Once you add colors that can change but does not have to. In this trailer you do not know if the colored wire is ground or hot. In this case I have a red wire twisted together with all the rest of the white wires and a white wire twisted together with all the colored wires. This is not normal or correct. All colored should be together and all white should be together. Had the same problem with fluorescent light in bedroom. Not only does FR not know anything about carpentry but there ability to wire a 12 volt system is scary.
P. S. Now that I think about it they may have done this because the lights are hooked up wrong in the slide. What a way to solve the problem. IMHO that it is real stupid.

Re: Bedroom lights.
Never take for granted anything FR does...wiring included. Ummm, plumbing too.
Glad you got it fixed Dan.

Re: Bedroom lights.
Portagie,
The rollers in the slide mechanism were shorting mine out. The wires ran down into the forward basement compartment for their routing to the rear of the trailer. I made a new splice and rerouted the wires under the bed. No further problem.

Mine went into the basement and then into the front battery area. Then who knows where.
