Remove frame from body....

Post by BobnPi on 7/12/2011, 2:47 pm

Last week I noticed a "thumping" noise under the driver side floor. Took it to the dealer and it turned out to be the body mounts. They had to hoist the body off the frame and replace the 4 central body mounts. I've never heard of this happening before. Anyone else ever hear of this? $463.00 later, it doesn't thump anymore.

I've heard of bad body mounts before but not on a 4 year old vehicle.

Is your '07 the classic or new body style?

Mine is the classic but I wish it were the new style and a GMC. Laughing

Thanks for the heads up. Is this problem associated with Chevys only? Or is it something we should keep aware of with our Ford?

I have a 2007 GMC 2500HD and it thumps when I turn right into my driveway. I had it in the dealer 3 times and they said they couldn't find the problem. Maybe you've found my problem for me.

I think my body mounts on mine are not rubber but a type of plastic that is what they look like but definatly not rubber.
