LED's
First topic message reminder :
I have a 3 light blub vanity in my WC. Thinking about replacing the 12 volt bulbs with LED's. Has anybody bought and used the JC-24SMD-AB-P VANITY BULB UPGRADE's.

Re: LED's
Here's some more information about the LED lighting Wildcat is using in the new Touring Edition package:
1. Our new energy efficient LED ceiling lights draw only 0.33 amps (compared to a 20 watt halogen bulb which draws 1.67 amps).
2. The LED lights are over 100ºF cooler at the lens than a glass halogen fixture.
3. There are no bulbs to replace. The manufacturer has rated the LEDs to last 50,000 hours vs. the 1,000 hours in a typical incandescent halogen bulb.
4. Our LEDs are not affected by road vibration and are designed to handle voltage fluctuations up to 30 volts DC, making them more reliable for RV use.
5. Our LED lights use high output, warm white LEDs for a more balanced, natural color. These are not like the typical blue-tint LEDs found in many low power LED applications.
I know some of you have asked about getting these as aftermarket upgrades -- I'll let you know when I have more info!

Re: LED's
Thanks, Chris. That's nice to know. I doubt if we would upgrade our current Cat, but if we decide to get a new one, we'll most likely go with the LEDs.

Re: LED's
I saw these interior LED lights while at the factory and they're sweet! The light they give off is perfect and they look great. They're low profile surface mount. They look similar to a halogen fixture. They appeared to be high quality as well. After the holidays I may get with Forest River parts and order a couple and do some placement testing. My only concern is when replacing the current lights you'll have mounting holes left behind to try and cover up as the lights are smaller and wont cover all the holes. But I may leave the OE lights and mount the LEDs on each side of the OE light. Can't wait to experiment with them.

Re: LED's
That's why we won't be doing an upgrade to our present Cat. Not practical on a financial standpoint.

They are if you dry camp. Those that don't wouldn't benefit from upgrading to interior LED's as you always have unlimited power from your shore cord. Dry camping you have so little power available, even with multiple batteries. Old school light fixtures are such power hogs.

Correct. Actually, I almost said "Since we don't dry camp, it wouldn't be practical for us on a financial standpoint."

Re: LED's
About the LEDs. We have 3 very bright bulbs in the light fixture above the dining room table. We don't like that much light while we're eating, so take two of them out. A dimmer switch would be nice whether we have our current type of bulb or LEDs. Is this possible?

Tater,
You can go to an auto parts store and get lower output bulbs for your dining light. If you post the bulb number I can tell you part numbers for less bright bulbs.
