LED's
I have a 3 light blub vanity in my WC. Thinking about replacing the 12 volt bulbs with LED's. Has anybody bought and used the JC-24SMD-AB-P VANITY BULB UPGRADE's.

At $25 a pop and to me, cosmetically unappealing, I’ll pass.

Have not. Not too likely I will at $25 a pop. Bring the price down into something more reasonable, maybe.

Re: LED's
I think I'd like LEDs in some light fixtures, but not in the vanity.

Yes they are. If they are bright enough they would be great but, the price.

Re: LED's
I guess if you like the way LEDS look or want to save your battery. But yes 25 bucks is real steep. I found a few places that carry LEDs and are really cheap. I know sometimes, it's you get what you pay for , but it is an LED and who is to say that the one for 25 is not going to fail too.. Have a look at this and you can also try Ebay they usually have good prices ...

Re: LED's
We have replaced all of our interior (K-9010 & K-9020) and exterior fixtures with LED's from http://commandelectronics.com/led-tail-lights.html#LedInteriorUpgradeKit I had tried replacing the bulbs, but was not satisfied with the color and light output. The new ones are brighter than the OEM's and cool. If I turn on all of the interior lights, it is hard to notice any battery drain. I have actually had people come up to me when I stopped asking what kind of light I have because the stoplights are so visible in the bright sun.

Thank you. Did U replace your vanity light on the medicine cabinet. If so which one did U use.

Re: LED's
We only have a light on the ceiling above your head at the medicine cabinet. That was the first one that I replaced because it was always so hot on my head when I shaved. I used the K-9020 and the difference was night and day. Now we can leave lights on when we leave the trailer with no fear of our battery going dead.

Re: LED's
Thank you all for the help. Now begins the research. Jir - when I hit the big one on the jackpot machine I will by yours.
Bob - I know what you mean. Before I modified my solar the whole trailer was keep alive, when stored, by a 45 watt system. The propane detector, the radio on stand by, and one LED light ran for 2 days and the 45 amper almost kept the batteries at full charged. Yeppers no draw at all.

Re: LED's
I agree that they are expensive, but replace the most important ones first. To me it was bathroom, kitchen, dining area then the rest of the trailer. A little at a time.

Re: LED's
Done the same thing. Potty room, bedroom night lights, sofa spot lights, and several others are LED. Kitchen, shower area and bedroom are fluorescent. May change these slowly since there are LED lights that look like fluorescent. 75 dollars for the vanity still maybe a little steep. The ceiling in the trailer is not worth it. Very seldom use those lights.

I agree Dan, do the light that you use the most, then maybe the "LED Fairy" will either lower the prices or leave a pot of gold at your door.

Re: LED's
The vanity unit is the only lights in my cat that I have not changed, due mainly to the fact that her in doors feels that LEDs are not so kind to the to the reflections in the mirror. (wrinkles and shadows.)

Light is adequate but a real drain on the battery when dry camping.

Re: LED's
I don't have to use the vanity light for very long, I have had my face so long I know what it looks like.
Her in doors is slightly different though she has to do all this foundation and make up stuff. ( I am glad she doesn't read too many topics on the forum)

Re: LED's
The vanity lights are off limits when we are not hooked up to shore power. We have a florescent ceiling light and a separate mirror in the bath area which works well -- just have to move back and forth a little bit.

We don't dry camp. Did that years ago, don't want to do it again.

Re: LED's
With a generator I sure do want to. Once a year. Need to exercise that addition piece of equipment. It also helps the plumbing. The first trailer I bought was a good example to me. They never dry camped. We sanitized the tank and for a good 2 or 3 hours our water was black. Mold in pipes never use. Not to good to me.

If there is a need in the future I was wondering if somebody here has ever found an LED for the hood light.

We never dry camp, but we do use the fresh water system on every trip. Don't have to dry camp to use the fresh water.

Re: LED's
We fill our fresh water tank before every trip. We don't dry camp, but we stop in rest areas for lunch, etc. We don't have a water hook up, so we use our fresh water. It keeps the pipes and tank clean. I thought everybody does this.
