How about going to your profile and making a signature that tells what year/model Cat you have - also tell about your tow vehicle - and about the equipment/accessories you have.

I hope that isn't asking for too much. Wink

Don't really understand what you mean by having all those Cats "in use."

There are many of us who wish our units were "tested" a little more thorough.

I know I certainly do not appreciate having to change both axles in our 2010RLBS with well under 3000 miles towed. I could go on with several more items like a failed converter, broken welds on front jack pins, failed concertone, leaking around windows and roof ect...

Mountainman,

You bring up great points. Please understand axles, tires, converters, electronic components, these are items that manufactures all use and install. We don't build them only install them into the RV and while the goal is a zero defect unit it's tough when we don't manufacture all these parts ourselves. The efforts are to pick the best one in the market place and as well as the best vendor to stand behind their parts. Take axles for instance.... We use 5200# not 4400# axles on everything. Tires, we are standard with larger size tires than are competition. 225/75 15 vs 205/55 15 wildcat is standard on 8 ply tires while others are 4 and 6. We we were on of the first to offer 16" tires 10 ply load range E tires in the market place for our segment. We asked the vendor to use nitrogen in the tires for cooling the tire and longer life tread wear. This practice is not standard in out competition. We the asked for the supplier to issue a road side assitnce card to those customers as well as Wildcat issues free 1 year coachnet to help customers. While I understand you have an issue with yours and very sorry to hear that, most of the issues you had were with the running gear by the sounds of your info posted. Axles, tires and then the damage from them. I certainly don't know the whole story here only trying to get another prospective out there while yes you have had something go wrong it was not as a result of Wildcat not caring nor not wiling to try to help you I am certain of that. If you wish to talk more please pm me and we can go into more details. I thank you very much for your business and hope you allow us to serve you in the future.

Respectfully

Team Wildcat

Post by Scruffy and Tater on 7/11/2011, 2:56 am

Tomcat,
Scruffy and I are very happy with our Cat. We sometimes think we got a good one because it was the display model for a couple RV shows. We did have some big problems with the OEM wheels and tires - blowouts/flats. Turned out the wheels had small cracks. We've also had minor problems that we fixed ourselves... but nothing like what some of the other members have had to deal with.
Unfortunately, if you'll read the posts from others in the forum, they are having major problems, some due to Lippert or Concertone products, but many due to Wildcat production. For example, read the recent posts about delamination, and what people are having to do at their own expense to fix.

There are more, and maybe some members will speak up.... or, you could look through the Maintenance, and High Tech forums to see for yourself.

welcome

Still can not find the facebook page.

Our Wicked Kitty was made on Saturday by college students who were either hang over or still drunk and had no knowledge of what they were doing. QC was nonexistence when it was birthed. Many problems were fixed by FR, some that FR should have fixed we have paid for, and a few we just live with. Some small stuff was left off and justified by the small print in the back of the brochure. BS is all that is. We luv the trailer we have and will run it into the ground now. There is no floor plan out there that could replace it. FR was not smart to drop it. In fact it is not listed in any blue books so we do not even know what it is worth. To be very honest I could never recommend another WC to anybody with what we went thru. If it had been a Automobile it would have been gone, better feelings would be had by all, and very possible we would still recommend WC since we would have gotten a new one. That is life and that is our story and we are sticking to it.

P.S. Find a new radio maker.

Re: Team Wildcat

Post by wildcatgps on 7/11/2011, 4:38 am

Tomcat,

I know one area of interest for a few on this page has been leaks in the bedroom slideout. I seemed to have been lucky in that my slideout only needed adjustment to fix the leak (or so it seems), but there are a few that fought the leak battle for an extended period of time and still could not get it fixed (search slideout leak). Seems like that is something that should be caught at the factory before shipment. And it seems as though there are more than a few that are having this problem. Other than that, I have been pretty happy with the quality of my camper (other than the axle problem, I too had a bearing failure and my camper is now in the shop having both axles replaced - 2500 miles and 14 months after purchase.)

Thanks,
Randy

Post by wohtex on 7/11/2011, 4:55 am

welcome to the forum Tomcat, I am a new WC owner and have the 313RE which I have been using about 6 weeks now and so far I am happy with it. Couple of issues, one being the tankless water heater and when they changed it out they put a gas only replacement in, and a water leak somewhere around the bedrooms slide when it rains. We bought it in Texas and only had rain there once, dealer said they could not find the leak, now in Colorado and has rained twice and still have water leaking into the storage compartment coming down the inside of the wall, today I found the lower seal toward the front was not flat and actually had a little pocket sticking our that may be catching the rain water and taking it past the seal, I corrected that and waiting for more rain, also the interior seal on one side slides down and I have to push it back up before I let the slide go all the way out.

Can these be retrofit into an older WC? I might be interested if so; Iunderstand this would be at my expense.

I can't say for certain, but you may be able to get the info (dimensions) from Jensen directly:
http://www.jensenrvdirect.com/customer-service

Here's a link to the stereo itself as well:

They have a retrofit pig tail to hook all appropriate wires as well so it's a simple install. FYI

Great news. Thank you. Now I got a replacement that might work. With the 30RLBS reconfiguring the location of the stereo might be a big task since it is wider that deeper. There is not much room to cut a bigger hole and would need to cover the hole left. Maybe due able but it would fry some brain cells figuring it out.

Tomcat,
Personally, I think FR could learn a lot by reading the forums on the MODs that some have done. I know FR wants to keep the cost as low as possible, but there are quite a few things that could be better at very little extra cost. Closing heater registers, swivel/closing AC vents, etc. Just my 2cents.

I am pleased that you are part of our community. DW and I love our Cat and haven't had any problems so far other than minor stuff with the Concertone.
