Buttermilk Pie

Post by TC on 7/10/2011, 9:10 am

This recipe makes its own crust. Super easy to throw together.

Buttermilk Pie

Prep Time: 5 min
Cook Time: 50 min
Serves: 6 to 8 servings

Ingredients

• 1 1/2 cups sugar
• 1 cup buttermilk
• 1/2 cup biscuit mix (recommended: Bisquick)
• 1/3 cup (5 1/3 tablespoons) butter, melted
• 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
• 3 eggs

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9-inch pie pan (I just use PAM).
Put all ingredients in a bowl and blend for 1 minute with an electric mixer. Pour mixture into prepared pan. Bake for about 50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool for 5 minutes.

Hope you enjoy...

TC

BTW...I've doubled this recipe in the past and baked it in a glass 9 x 13 dish when we had guests coming for supper.

Sounds great - and easy. Looks like one of those "impossible pies" from Bisquick.

I made a chocolate impossible pie years ago. It was delicious, but I lost the recipe. You got it by any chance, TC?

I've looked on-line but haven't been able to find it.

Tater, that's not a bisquick recipe. Unless my G-ma got it from them. She passed that down to my mom who was making that pie when I was still a pup.

I don't have anything from bisquick unless there's something on the back of their box. One way or the other, I'll look around and see if I can come up with something for you.

Stay tuned...

BTW, I found my G-ma's impossibly easy bisquick buttermilk pie recipe on the Betty Crocker website. Betty Crocker must'a stole it from my G-ma! Wink

I'll look those up. The one I made didn't have coconut in it, but it might have been an option.

Thanks, TC.

All of these impossible chocolate pies sound good, and I can't remember if I used chocolate or cocoa. So, I guess I'll have to make them all. sunny

I think I would like it with coconut, but I LIKE coconut!!

You'll have to tell me which one you'd ultimately recommend.
