Nice to see that some parks are open due to the floods, beautiful site.

My parents are trying to stay at the KOA in Hill City in August and they are currently not taking reservations because of the flooding.

Nice looking place. Beautiful tree you're parked by. Thanks for the photos.

If the KOA is claiming flooding, that is new to me. Just got back and the Hills look as good as ever. We stayed just down the road at Rafter J Bar. Tell them to take a look. Way better than the KOA anyway.....room to breathe.... Laughing Custer state park is another good one, but it books out full pretty frequently. I highly recommend the buffalo round up they have every fall. Nothing like the roar of a thundering herd of buffalo being led over the plains to their auction corals.

They are taking reservations now. My parents have stayed there in the past and they are creatures of habit...

It's nice too, just a little crowded for my taste....I'm sure they will have fun!

We really enjoyed our visit to Custer State Park. The buffalo seem to enjoy creating a traffic jam in Custer the same way they do in Yellowstone.

Unlike Yellowstone, the Pronghorn in Custer paid little attention to traffic so we had some great views of this fastest of North American land animal.

For anyone who visits Mount Rushmore, you should make a point of driving through Custer State Park.

cheers

Been a while since I heard that name! We stayed there 6 years back pre Wildcat and it was nice! My wife wanted to stay in Custer, but being far from home I wanted more amenities. Great campground and very clean. Hope to get back to the black hills. However, after driving through Custer there were some pretty spots there, very nice area can't go wrong!

Nice pictures!
