Super Lube or Never Lube

Super Lube or Never Lube
We have a 2010 Wildcat 25RL. The model brochure it came with states that standard equipment is Never Lube axles but the sticker on the side of the unit states it has Super Lube.
Are they the same? I thought Never Lube was just that...permanently packed...never lube...replace bearings when worn out. And Super Lube is a simpler greasing solution with a grease fitting that forces grease through a tube into the back of the rear bearing thereby pushing the old grease out the front.

Anyone know?

Re: Super Lube or Never Lube
Great question Kim, I would also like to know. My 2010 has a sticker on the side of the trailer indicating to use a lithium style greese to pump into the greese fitting under the chrome cap/cover on the wheel, I think that's where my greese fitting is...

Re: Super Lube or Never Lube
Kim,
I believe you are correct in your thinking, but I've read over in WWW.RV.NET that folks don't really like the never lube. Everything needs to be checked/lubed every year or 2.
There is great debate on the Super Lube hubs, use the zerk fitting/don't use the zerk fitting. Inspect/repack every year.
You'll get many opinions here and everywhere you read.
Here's my opinion, I give my hubs 2 squirts of Castrol Pyroplex Red grease every couple of trips, rotating the wheel as I pump VERY SLOWLY. The reason I use this grease is cause when I paid someone to do the bearings, this is what he suggested to use.
If all feels well, I inspect/repack every 2 years, no matter how many miles I've pulled the camper.

Re: Super Lube or Never Lube
So I can only guess that FR must have changed the axle/bearing type after they printed their brochure? And that they are indeed different types and not just different names for the same thing?

I would always check the bearings at least every 2 years just for peace of mind.

U are talking about the grease zert you can access from the outside of the wheels thru a rubber cover. The one you never use a air gun on.

Dan,
Yes, the zerk fitting.
And YES, NEVER use an air grease gun.

Re: Super Lube or Never Lube
FR dropped the sealed bearing system from what I've read. Too many issues. Probably went cheap on it. Dexter has had sealed bearing systems out for years and I never heard anything bad about theirs.

A lot of vehicles on the road with sealed bearings for years that work really well.

Re: Super Lube or Never Lube
By the comments above I overdo my bearing repacks. I do it at the beginning of every season and again if the WC goes over 5,000 miles towing. I picked this up from a local MN RV rental place; it's what they do.

Re: Super Lube or Never Lube
We have them serviced every other year as well. Seems pretty standard.
I wouldn't trust anything from FR that says "no maintenance". For all I know, they got one heck of a deal in bulk and the customer was the furthest thing from their minds when they placed the order.
OR
It could be a lippert thing, since lippert provides the frames.
Either way, I wouldn't trust it.

Re: Super Lube or Never Lube
Opps i should of said Lippert and not FR. Lippert makes the axles, not FR.

Re: Super Lube or Never Lube
It is definitely Lippert. Thats who I've been dealing with on my SBS axles.
BUT - Forrest River or any other manufacturer could easily spec better axles, frames or suspension parts. As said above they simply get the cheapest thing they can get.
Does anyone other than Jayco and Carriage build their own frames anymore?
