matching stain for cabinets

Post by H.O.G. Hauler on 6/18/2011, 8:54 am

Hi
I thought I read some time ago that a matching stain color was posted. I "search" and nothing comes up. Does anyone have the brand/color??
Thanks

I'm pretty sure it's Winwax Golden Oak. I'll look thru my posts to confirm.

Couldn't find any posts related to this, but I checked to see what I stained the drawers and shelves with. I was correct, it is in fact Winwax Golden Oak.

I've used Minwax Golden Oak or Minwax Golden Pecan. For our desk, I mixed the two. A lot of it depends on the type wood you're applying the stain to. Test a little area first - maybe on the backside of the wood.

I used Minwax Golden oak on my shelving I built, the wood was poplar and it was pretty close to the same color.

If you look at my post on adding a bedroom light switch you can see what golden oak looks like on oak wood. The piece I stained is inside my closet.
