Refrigerator problem - - Freezer cools, but refrigerator doesn't
Turned on LP and put refigerator in gas mode running off DC (full battery) today. Freezer is cold and the refrigerator is not cooling (it's 80 F). I don't know how to troubleshoot.
Any suggestions?

As soon as I posted this...I thought I may haeve jumped the gun on my "problem."
It WAS above 90 here today. It's going to take longer than 12 hours to get the fridge to cool at all....isn't it? I guess I just expected it to be down near at least 50.

It takes my freezer much less time to get cold than the refrigerator section. To get the refrigerator cold, I need at least 12 - 16 hours depending on how hot it was. A small battery fan in the fridge helps considerably.

Adding cold drinks and/or blue ice to the fridge will help it cool down quicker. We also try to start the cool down in the evening when ambient temperatures are less.

Yup...I always start ours up at least 24 hours before we go.

Re: Refrigerator problem - - Freezer cools, but refrigerator doesn't
Glad you resolved the problem. When I read your post I thought for sure that the sensor had come off the cooling fin in the fridge. When that happens, the refrigerator acts exactly as you described, freezer is cold but not the fridge portion. With my rear kitchen model I’ve had this happen to me twice. Sliding the sensor higher or lower controls the temperature of the fridge.
Below is a picture of the sensor on the cooling fin. BTW, my refrigerator cools down a heck of a lot faster on the propane side vs. the electric side.

Our refrigerator takes quiet a while to cool down. We usually turn it on one morning, and fill it the next morning.
Richard,
That white thing is the cooling sensor? Thanks.

We throw a frozen 1 quart water bottle in our freeze and after 12 hours minimum we throw some cold stuff in the refer to help it all get nice and cold.

Mine cools down OK but I did find the sensor pulled out of the plastic slide they made the cord too short and when I tried to adjust it pulled out. Didn't notice until I checked today was way too cold and I noticed the sensor was just hanging in midair not any where near the fins.

Yes, the white thing is the sensor. The higher on the fin it is placed, the cooler the fridge gets. The first time the sensor came off, it fell behind some cans we had in the fridge and I didn't realize that it had come off. It took me a while to figure out why the fridge wasn't cooling.

LOL, I got a big chuckle out of that. I can't believe I took a picture of the fridge and a soda can shows up instead of a bottle of white wine.

You had wine chilling in the fridge? White is my favorite. Red is okay, if it is chilled. Scruffy doesn't like his red chilled. I'll drink red now and then to keep the peace (don't laugh - sometimes I put ice in my red).

Interesting how a slide can effect the temp.

I too had no idea that the white thing controlled the temperature. I always thought that I had a cheap refrigerator and they didn't put the control where the "dimple" was. I just went out and checked mine. Sensor laying on shelf, Temperature in fridge 31 (empty).
