E-Z Flex Inferior??
I recently installed the E-Z Flex Equalizer. Hauled the Cat 25 miles to the house. Doing a general inspection preparing for our Odyssey 2011 departure when, 'lo and behold, the primary rubber bushing on the one unit was split! I was hoping for a little more than 25 miles for replacement. Dexter Axle promised to send a replacement out immediately and so far has honored the warranty, however, one must now question their quality? We'll be leaving on our trip as soon as I can "re-install" the replacements.

Might just be the way the pic was taken but it looks at though the hanger may be maknig contact with the rubber bushing. I've had mine about a year now with no problems.

Re: E-Z Flex Inferior??
It looks like the bushing has serious heat damage or dry rot.... like it's been sitting around for a long time.

Re: E-Z Flex Inferior??
That was one of the reasons I went with the Equa-Flex, the rubber is encased between plates. But anyway, this should never be. How long ago did you install the parts? Is it on one side only?

Re: E-Z Flex Inferior??
Bought and installed about a month ago. Noticed "defective" on the one side last week as I was changing tires. Only 25 miles and a couple of weeks in the yard. I know it is a "dry heat" here but really?

Got the replacements from Dexter "overnight". Installed them again. Looks great! After closer inspection, originals did appear to have "dry rot". Lots of hairline cracks and what appeared to be an air bubble that immediately caused the split when under pressure. Poor quality control hopefully on a single production batch.

Either that or they were on the shelf where you bought them a long time.
Were they hard to replace. Just wondering in case I ever need to replace mine. Seem like they were compressed in there pretty tight when I installed them from what I remember.

Re: E-Z Flex Inferior??
Keager, I just put mine on a few weeks ago and they split, both sides. Gotta call'em and get a replacement for mine also.
First trip with mine about 300 miles, noticed the splits when I was setting up the camper at the site. Mine doesn't look dry rotted just a straight split. I was wondering what would happen if the rubber came out on the way back home. Its stayed together, but kinda had me thinking. And I sure as heck don't want to have to reinstall them.
