Littcarr Campground, Carr Creek Recreation Area (USACE), KY

Post by Glen Schumann on 5/29/2011, 4:01 am

Nice Corps campground located in coal country south of Hazard, KY. There are some full hook up sites and quite a few E/W sites. We enjoyed our site and the day trips available in the area. The water in the lake came up twice while we were there due to rain but not enough to threaten our site (the lowest in the campground). The biggest drawback is the campground is located just off a busy highway with lots of large trucks; there was quite a bit of road noise, not so much in the evening and on weekends. Hosts were very friendly and helpful.

There is also a KY state park on Carr Creek Lake which we did not visit. It should be more quiet as it is not directly on a busy highway.

Here is our rig on our site at Littcarr Campground.

Nice spot. I like the spacious sites. Road noise wouldn't bother us a whole lot if it got quiet at night. Very pretty. Thanks.
