Ford TV
Ford F350 CC LWB 2004. I have a cool down timer installed so the trucks runs for a while after I remove the key and leave. For me unfortunately the radio starts playing again after I leave the vehicle until it decides to stop. This also happens when I sit in the truck after I have shut it off until I open the door. Has anybody found a way to disable this feature?

Re: Ford TV
You talking about the accessory delay relay. I don't think it's possible from a programming standpoint to turn it off/on. On my old 2000, the GEM provides the ground to energize the relay. I believe the newer trucks have a VSM (vehicle security module) that does the same thing. The relay coils have a constant 12V to it all the time. Reverse of what I'm used to wiring relays. Usually you have a constant ground and provide 12V to the coil to energize.
So.....
You could be adventurous and rewire it so it is "on" only when the ignition is in the on or accessory position. It may take a secondary relay since the ignition provides a 12V and the accessory relay would require a ground.
or....
Depending on the wiring of the turbo timer, you may be able to disconnect the wire from the turbo timer that ties into the accessory side of the ignition.

Re: Ford TV
My wire hooks to the PCM to keep it running. So the first comment maybe the only answer. Now were do I find this relay is a very good question?

It's usually in the fuse box under the steering wheel. Look in your owner's manual.

Ford TV different subject
I am going to post this and I know the other owners of the other brands are going to
over this.
My 2004
6.0 is in the shop. The Oil Cooler and EGR Cooler has gone bad.
It started leaking Oil into the coolant.
It has been in the shop all week waiting for the Warrenty Company Rep to come and approve the work. Ford Tech will start start to work on it Monday. Thanks for the Extended Warrenty that is going to pay for the complete Repair. No out of pocket expience for me. They even would pay for a rental car.

Re: Ford TV
Happens to them. I blame the smog requirements not Ford. I hope U are putting in an after market cooler. Quality is way above Fords product. My Ford dealer will. Since mine went the Lemon route I can not get an extended warranty. Really stinks.

56,000+ miles on my truck.
Can not go the Delete route
Ford says they will not install after market parts because of the warrenty company.

Re: Ford TV
So the warranty company is the problem. Glad I do not have one then. Mine will put in the Bullet Proof. Will not have to worry about it again. I got 44,000 so I am hoping it will last for a while.
If U have to smog your truck like CA U can not go the delete route. To delete all this smog crap is the best way to go.

I just ordered the Bullet Proof EGR Cooler. Should have it tomorrow. Had already talked to Ford Dealer Service Manger and they said ok to the aftermarket EGR Cooler just I have to pay the difference.

Re: Ford TV
Way to go. Are they replacing your oil cooler? They can get plugged and why open it up again. Just a question and a suggestion.
I hope they do all of this. Especially number 3.

Re: Ford TV
They are replacing the oil cooler. That had leaked oil in to the coolant. They have 3 gallons of Simple Green to flush out the system.

Re: Ford TV
I do 5 also and filters every 15,000. Also have found out from many blogs that the old Ford was not designed for town. That 6.0 is a freeway engine thanks to the designers. Needs to get hot and run because there are to many things to plug.

Re: Ford TV
Back to my original post. If I get tired of turning off the radio I may pull it and add a rely to the hot wire going to it. That would be a permanent cure my problem.

Re: Ford TV
Very nice to hear that. Ford is a good truck. This one was built by engineers and it shows it with some of the design flaws. The new models have changes based on customer complaints. Design flaws are everywhere in every car. The engine in my 94 Taurus prone to blow head gaskets. It is 2 bolts short in every cylinder. Still a very good car. I have driven a Isuzu pup for 250,000 miles. Finally blew up. Anyway, it has stretch bolts instead of studs to hold down the head. Drove it wrong once and lost HG at ?8000? miles. After that no problem. So the system does work just the extra crap that is smog required messes it up and kids who have to run chips. Does not work in Fords.

Today I installed the ScanGaugeII. It checks a lot of different systems on the truck. Bullet Proof Diesel tech said it should be an Item that I should add to My Truck
