Maiden Voyage
We finally got a chance to take out the new Cat this past weekend. Thankfully everything worked and we had a great time even though it rained both Friday and Saturday evenings and into the night. Was a good test for any leaks to show up, of which there were none. I just have a couple of concerns on a few items.
1. The converter would make a strange noise as load got bigger, i.e. turn on more lights and such. Sounded like the fan was coming and off in rapid succession. If I added more load then the fan would run continuously, less and it would shut off. Do I need to be concerned?
2. Our previous camper had a 36g tank and we could make that last the entire weekend. The new one has a 50g tank and we ran out of water Sunday morning. Makes me think the tank is not getting full because of the overflow vent.

Concerning the water tank, there have been a number of complaints about it dumping water through the overflow during the trip. There have been mods done to resolve this problem. You can search for the mod, or maybe someone will chime in with a link to it.

As for the converter, ours does the same thing. Never had it cut out on us yet. Full AC with lights and TV and stuff going.
Glad you had a good trip!

I had the same problem with our water tank, what happens is when you fill it, the overflow tube hangs below the tank will siphon off a few gallons before it stops. The fix is too re-route the overflow tube to the small vent tube located next too the fill opening. Very poor design too run the overflow tube down below the tank.

I just got back from home depot with the supplies to extend the hose out to the edge of the frame and then cap it off with a ball valve. I am also going to put a check valve in the line so that when the tank needs air it will pull it through the check valve.

I wouldn't use a check valve as the vent needs to vent bi directional.

I will have a ball valve on it also. When I am filling the tank I will open the ball valve and then when it's filled I will close the ball valve. Then while I am using water from the tank as it needs air it will suck it through the check valve.
