Anybody Else have neighbors from heck!!!

I have the worst neighbors and I have been nice too long. All this JUNK has been moved in since we were annexed into the city and I'm fustrated with dealing with the city and them. That's definitely a bad eyesore. Don't know what you can do. Some cities are reluctant to go after people like this.... it's expensive. Keep complaining. How do the other people in the neighborhood feel about this? The horses don't look very healthy, SPCA might be able to do something. You might consult a lawyer to see if anything could be done. I'd say move, but with this blight right next door, you couldn't get anything for your place.

I thought my neighbors were trashy, after looking at your photos I feel better. You have my sympathy.

Put one of these out in front from about 5 a.m. til 7 a.m. and see how much of their stuff walks away before they even get out of bed...repeat this several weeks in a row and eventually it'll all be gone.

Better yet, call A&E or TLC channels, and tell them your neighbor would be a shoe-in for one of their new hoarding shows.

Our county has an ordinance saying only 1 untagged vehicle, including campers/vehicles/trailers. And no scrap metal cause then you look like you are starting a junk yard. The woman across the street from us had 4 cars, 1 tagged, her live in has 7 cars, 1 tagged. Looks like a junk yard, so I know how you feel.

Do you have a civic association? does your development have any special rules.

WOW....That's a lot of crud for a residential area.Never seen a residential area zoned for some of this stuff.Are you in a neighborhood,or just houses dotted around here and there?If it's a neighborhood there may be some kind of covenants against this. I wish you luck.

I have lived here since Aug 1983 and this has gone on for at least 20 years just never this bad it was clean less than 1 year ago when she had sold the property for houses that's when we were annexed in around august of last year. Since then I have been dealing with address changes and that has been fun since I have 2 addresses because of two seperate power meters one for the shop and one for the house. Anyway I was expecting the contractor who was going to build houses around me to build a new fence of block. Part of the deal we worked out on paper which he signed. Then the bottom fell out of the housing boom and the development went bust. I still don't understand how she (my Neighbor) was able to get her property back when the 30 acres she owned down by the River she lost to forcloser that is where all the junk is comming from. So now when I contact the city they are saying it is not their problem because it is not in city limits even though they are the ones who gave me the new addresses. I contacted the county and they say I don't live in the county anymore ???? Now I worry about fire and police protection and what I can do to protect myself.
I know that this is long winded but I needed to vent. I sure am glad that I am going on a week vacation soon been stuck in this house for 11 weeks because of shoulder surgery and the 25 the Doctor is going to clear me for going back to work soon and then I will be alot happier but Vacation first!

As a land surveyor I get to see a a lot of people's pride and joy. It's seems to hold true that the amount of crap a person has is inversely proportional to there ambition and directly proportional to the number of horses they can't afford but still seem to have. This kind of thing disgusts me. One bad place ruins the whole neighborhood. Good luck.

I've had something similar happen and ended up selling my home and 11 acres to get away from it. Making a very long story, short, we were fortunate to have sold at a good time and found a better place with GREAT neighbors all around. It's not an option for most, but it worked out for us. I wish you the best in dealing with this.

Iv'e stopped looking for now will stay a few years longer untill I finally Retire then will sell everything and move from this State it is too crowded for me.

You mentioned its a woman ,,,, Does she say she wants to clean it up ? ,,, From the pic's she's sit'n on a good bit of money for scrap metal. Don't know what its bringing out there, but scrap is bringing a lot of money around here. I'd be wanting to offer a low ball price for the scrap and haul it to the scrap yard myself. I see a few thousand dollars worth of scrap sitting there.
Those trailers alone are worth a good bit for scrap if there not highway worthy. Maybe you should have a scrap guy come by and make a cold call on here stuff. She may not know what she has and could use the money.

Try to get a percentage if you can for all your pain and suffering...

Another solution might be to call the Board of Health. This mess is certainly a health hazard, attracting rats and insects, and who knows what else.

UPDATE: Neighbors are now Mad at me but I had nothing to do with it BUT somebody turned them in about not feeding horses properly. So now they have to get them out and also they have to remove trailers and other junk. I will believe it when I see it.

I guess it's good to know you aren't the only one who is fed up with the junk.

That's good news. Do you really care that the neighbors are mad at you? Unless they try to retaliate.
