Re: My First Mod
Thats a good sturdy mount. Where you just going for the black background ?
why didn't you take the back panel out and mount it over the plywood and reuse the trim ?

Re: My First Mod
I'm not sure there is much of a panel there. That back wall is pretty thin. A 1-1/2 screw will go clear thru into the bathroom. Luckly I checked before putting the ones in the center.

Same here. Just a thin panel between bathroom and living room. A couple of 1X 4's in front if I can hit them.
Is that 3/4 inch plywood?

Re: My First Mod
No, I meant why didn't you remove the original panel, then place the 3/4" plywood in, then mount the original panel to the plywood so it would have the original look, but underneath it would be Solid plywood. Hide the plywood under the original panel and reuse the trim pieces on each side.

Re: My First Mod
Great Mod! We just bought a 2006 Wildcat and are working towards a first outing. The unit has no TVs and so my husband wants to install a flat screen TV on a moveable arm. We didn't know where to start but now we would like to replicate what you did! How did you attach the black plywood board to the existing panel? Does the TV need to be supported from below or is the plywood sturdy enough to hold steady even in travel? Thanks!

The panel is just a single piece maybe 1/4" thick

Re: My First Mod
yes 3/4" plywood I used 1-1/4" screws and fastened to the trim boards that you see in the bathroom. Don't use any thing longer than that our they will stick thru into the bathroom. I used 1" screws to fasten the tv mount. I also save some of the packing foam that came with the tv to give the tv a little extra support when traveling

Some kind of a stabilization. I like what Oneton did. I'm also working on a couple of supports for the slide. I took the WC to the shop yesterday to repair a leak on the hydraulic pump. I will get it back next Fri.
I also added 3" memory foam to the mattress

Re: My First Mod
The memory foam is a lifesaver. We have a 1 inch thickness and a 2" covered memory foam mattress pad. We also have a thinner mattress pad on top of that. Don't know why, cuz we have it, I guess. In the winter we put an electric mattress pad under the thin pad. I can feel the wires otherwise.

I have the same set up. This is a great way to do the TV but I prefer TC's way. His will slide in and out. Just more my style. Just got to talk DW into changing to a flat screen. She can not see why for the cost and the amount we use it.

Re: My First Mod
Port, you can tell her that a flat screen weighs a lot less and will save on fuel costs by lightening the load.

Re: My First Mod
I have to agree with that. The other TV is a boat anchor.

Re: My First Mod
I like the way our TV is mounted, but sometimes I think we should measure and see if we can set the door it mounts on back about 2-3 inches. Then we could probably let the TV ride in the entertainment center instead of on the bed. I know we could move the door, but we'd have to be sure we still have room behind the door for the printer, etc.
