New Light Switch

Post by Rusty on 5/18/2011, 3:38 am

After spending four days in the new camper, I found a need for a light switch in the Sleep bedroom. Yesterday I started installing a light switch just inside the bedroom, should be finished in an hour or two. It makes it so much easier to turn on the lights sunny when you enter the bedroom instead of trying to find the light switch on the ceiling, my friend put one in his bedroom also. It seems like FR should have done this, it wouldnt have cost the more than a couple dollars and been such and improvement to the camper, but if they did that what would we have todo to make it ours. sunny

Re: New Light Switch

Post by Rusty on 5/18/2011, 5:58 am

I just finished up the light switch, The process was fairly easy, 1st I removed the Med cabinet, then drill a couple 11/2 holes in the ceiling, then remove light in BR and located the wire that controled both lights, ran a wire snake from light to hole in bathroom, then pulled the wire back thru to the light and made the connections, then located stud beside BR door when i found that, I cut the hole for the switch, connected wires, install switch, put med cabinet back in and put the light back, I said "Let there be Light" turned on switch and Wa La I had light. sunny The DW was happy now no more trying to turn on lights, just open door and flip the switch. cheers

I had the switch, but you can get them on Ebay for around $8.00 or check with your local RV dealer

I just removed the two screws on each side of med cabinet and it came right out, a total of four screws was all that holds mine in

Rusty,
I just checked on servimg.com, and can't find a way to edit or flip a photo, so you'll have to do that in your own photo editing program before loading them.

I was disappointed when I checked that servimg doesn't have an editing program. I guess they are there just to host photos. Glad they have that service, even without editing.

Going to try this in the near future. Maybe real interesting. I have to go up the wall and thru the ceiling. Sam as Scruffy would do. Wondering if they actually have a wood plate at the top of the wall. Stay tune for further info.
