Wildcat 29BHBP Owners

Post by jamesb on 5/17/2011, 3:24 pm

To all the 29BHBP owners, you know by now that the bunkhouse bedroom door has to be completely closed before you can put the slide back in. And how many times have we all checked that? Thousands! Well, I thought that it was shut and latched. Wrong! As I was putting the slide in, no struggling, hesitating, grunting, or any signs. All of a sudden there was a loud pop. Long story short; the slide caught the door knob and knocked it off. I thought the DW was going to knock me off. Luckily, the door knob is so cheap, that it just popped it out of the actual socket. With a small block of wood and a hammer, the knob popped back on. It made no marks on the wood trim of the slide or any dents in the knob. Lucky me. But those slides sure have the power!! Any of you BHBP owners ever forgot to shut the door?

Yes, once, the kids left it open, but I caught it before it any damage.

That could have caused a lot of grief. I'm glad it all worked out and you were able to replace the door knob. Even gladder that your door didn't get all torn up and the slide jammed.
