Flooding
We had reservations for Dam West Campground at Carlyle Lake last weekend. Pulling up to the campground we noticed it seemed kinda empty... and it basically was. The COE had to close it because of Lake flooding. They also closed Boulder, Coles Creek, and Hazlet State Park. We got lucky because we found a spot at McNair with all the dis-placed hosts from the closed campgrounds.
They say that it is worse than 93 and the campgrounds will be closed till at least May 23rd or later!!! Doesn't sound like it's any better at Rend Lake!!

Re: Flooding
We just returned home from the Forest River Owners Group (FROG) rally in Branson and the COE had to open all ten of the flood gates on Table Rock Dam. That was an impressive sight to say the least.

Of course with all the water being released into Lake Taneycomo, flooding there caused the Branson Lakeside RV park to close. A rally of Monaco Coach owners had to move to the ABC campground where our FROG rally was being held.

Re: Flooding
Had our reservatons at Nolin River Lake in KY for Memorial Day weekend cancelled by the USACE. They have closed all the campgrounds there until July due to the flooding. Our site for Indpendence Day weekend is also at risk. The USFS has also closed all the campgrounds in Land Between the Lakes in western KY due to flooding. Lake levels there at 10-12 feet above summer pool.
We are at Carr Creek Lake in eastern KY until May 15th (also USACE). No closures but we watched the water in the creek rise for a couple of days. It went down some today.

I lived in Columbia, MO during the '93 flood. I can't imagine worse than that.

Re: Flooding
We've seen that dam as dry as a bone and once with one or two of the floodgates open. All I can say is ....... WOW! BTW, is that the dam you drive over going from downtown Branson to the Branson Bell?

Yes that is the same dam, although the road over the dam is currently closed while the COE make repairs to an earthen portion of the dam. There was a small landslide during all that rain and I think the road will be closed for a week or two.
