Stove Mod
First topic message reminder :
This is a mod I did because my wife has carrpel tunnel sydrome and has a hard time lighting stove burners.

So now all she does is push and it sure is alot quieter and she will never hear me heating a snack after dinner.

Re: Stove Mod
I'm not sure what I'm impressed with the most. The actual mod or the documentation that will allow even me to perform this one.
You really scored on this one.

Re: Stove Mod
I have also seen a four unit igniter used for the oven also but I could not recomend this as it is a standing pilot when you turn the oven knob to pilot it sends gas to the pilot if you don't lite it right away it can fill the oven and the results could be diasterous and I would not do it. On my home oven the oven will not light untill the glow plug is White hot so there is no gas untill then. This is what is called a 100% safety. And I don't want to be responsible for somebody getting hurt or worse killed by this mod.

Re: Stove Mod
See above for the 4 wire mod. I agree with onetonford. Also we have had the Kitty since 2006. We have used the stove maybe 2 times so why mod it..

Re: Stove Mod
Stove mod is completed. Used the kit from Wally World. Only had two new wire so I had to jerry rig the old ones. With a little sweat, needle nose pliers, and some black silicone adhesive it works great. Did not need the washer but I am going to add it to cover the screw holes. I used a step drill on the panel in place. Pulled up and to the right so hole was moved up a bit. A 7/8" hole was required. My DW just loves it because of her hand problems. Thank you for putting this on the blog. Made some brownie points. Needed this after it was done.

Re: Stove Mod
ONETON - It looks like you cut the wires and added new ends. Yours are shorter than mine. I am I correct in this assumption.

Re: Stove Mod
The small ends you had to crimp on are they available somewhere. Would like to get some in case of an emergency.

I got them from when I worked for TDR in Turlock we used to use them on the Auto Take Off Milk machines but that was about 20 years ago! You might get them from an Auto Parts store or maybe a appliance store like I think there's Youngs in Turlock? Can't remember I might still have a few more I can get to you also. If you PM me your adress I'll send them thru mail they are small enough I'll send you five.
