outside speakers work with radio but not with tv

Post by happycampers59 on 5/3/2011, 11:14 am

I own a 2006 wildcat and enjoy listening to the news while outside, but ever since i had to start using a converter box (due to digital), i can't get the outside speaker to go on with the tv. It works fine with the radio. Any help would be appreciated.

The receiver unit (Concertone?) that came with your trailer doesn't pick up TV signals anymore - that's why you have to use the converter box or have a newer model TV with the converter built in. The sound that goes to the outside speaker comes from the Concertone, but no sound is entering the Concertone because of the digital thing. Hmmmm - I gotta think about this. If you are hooked up to cable or satellite and listen/watch cable news, the sound should go to the outside speaker.

If you can't find a solution, you might be able to attach a wireless speaker unit to the back of your TV, and take a wireless speaker outside.

That's funny if I turn on my tv and I turn on my ZX75 and turn on the outside speakers I can listen to the tv outside. So I know it can work. scratch

Maybe the ZX75 has a digital converter built in. Being a newer model, it might.

Okay first question. If you turn the volume off on the TV can you hear the TV sound coming out the speakers wired to the Radio? If you can not you need to run another set of audio wires from the back of the TV to the back of the radio. Use audio input 2 wires on the radio. Then put Mr Radio on input 2 and you should have sound out there and in the coach. Also, as U well know, C has to be on or know sound outside. There should be a panel somewhere where U can hook up games, vcr, and so on. I did not use that for the audio wire because of mess and they still can be used by other things. I ran the new audio wires from the back of the TV thru a hole already there and plugged it into the Radio. Clean and see no more wires than necessary
