Boo Boo on my part

Post by onetonford on 5/1/2011, 4:24 pm

First topic message reminder :

Today Removed 32" lift TV to mount the Sub Woofer behind the TV instead in the bottom of the cabinet where Forest River had it so you could not put any thing in the cabinet what a waste of space. anyway I put everything back in place and no sound out of TV after checking out the wiring I found I put the wires for the speakers on the TV's input instead of output. What was I thinking must be old age or something But For Awhile I thought the Concert Tone went BYE BYE Wheeeeeeeeuuuuuuuuu Thank Goodness it is OK.

Had me worried for awhile because I had fixed all the Rats nest they had behind it and I thought I had messed up.
I also replaced the power wires they had to the Subwoofer they had wires #6 bigger than the wires going to the batteries. I put in #10 and works fine. also while I was in the cabinet behind the power supply I noticed they had put in a Nice ground bar but took all the lighting grounds and twisted them together put them into the largest hole in the bar that was eight about in each and tightened them down that was in two holes altogether the bar has a total of about twenty so I went to work and cleaned that mess up some people are so lazy any way I used all the holes except three. alot neater now and not that much work to do it right. stirthepot

I found the plastic box at radio shack, took a step bit drilled out the hole for the switch, and one for the wires to be routed through... Its official name is a Project Enclosure radio shack part number shows 270-1801, 3"x2"x1". The only thing you will have to watch for is the depth of the toggle switch to make sure it will clear the bottom of the box without interfering with the wires on the toggle switch once it closes. Some of the fancy toggle switches wouldn't work due to the depth of the switch.

Did find this one also at Radio Shack little bigger, 5x2.5 x2" part number 270-1803 see below:

That is very cool. Looked like something you would pick up at a Auto parts store. Thank you for showing me the light.

After reading all the postings here I have decided to wait for my 5 year old grandaughter to come for a visit and solve my audio/video problems... scratch
