Auto Light won't come on when Fridge is on AC Power
Hi,
Turned the Fridge on and the auto light came on (gas was turned off at tank). Fridge cooled fine. Turned it off and turned the gas on just to check that it would work on gas. When I put it back on AC power the Auto Light won't come on. The only way it will come on is if I hold down the gas button while also holding down the on button.
I hope it is only a fuse, but don't know where the fuses are for the fridge or anything else.
Can someone please tell me where to check for the fuses and what to look for?
Many thanks,
Jackie

Please give the model and year of your Cat. That will help locating your fuse box.

Model is 2011 28RKBS.
Found the fuse box, it is under the fridge. Also a neighbor helped me locate the two fuses outside in back of fridge and they seemed to be OK.
I checked that the plug in the back and it is seated properly'. When you turn it on now, it immediately starts trying to light the gas and the auto light doesn't come on until, like I explained before, I press the on and gas buttons.
Really stumped. Probably have to call Forest River and get a service call authorized.
Thanks for any thoughts.

Don't know if this will help, but my fridge will only switch to gas once the trailer is unplugged, then it does it automatically. Once plugged back in, it switches back to elec.

Re: Auto Light won't come on when Fridge is on AC Power
Mine has a button for gas and it can be used even if the electric is plugged in. Now it keeps trying to light the gas if you have the fridge in the ON position, since the gas is turned OFF at the tank, I have to keep the fridge OFF so the igniter or whatever it is won't wear out. If I turn the gas ON at the tank and turn the fridge ON, no problem, fires right up. It's supposed to automatically select AC when it is available and worked fine, until I put it on Gas and then tried to go back to electric.

The gas button has to be in and stay there to work on Auto. Gas button out no Auto. U run refer that way when dry camping. Fuses good, 110 hooked up, 110 at refer, gas button pushed in(if it will not stay in it is broke) then the refer should work and auto light should go on. U push the auto button with gas button pushed in and the ignitor tries to light the gas U have either a bad board or no 110 at the refer. This is an emergency default in case U lose power or the board dies.

Thanks, Dan, Mike and Sue.
The whole problem was operator error and not really reading what I was seeing. Because my previous trailers operator differently, I thought this was the same. What a relief that all is well.
