Sliding pantry baskets

Sliding pantry baskets
When we opened the door of the RV at our first stop, the contents of one Pantry Basket was laying in the floor, lucky there wasnt anything messy to clean up like syrup, etc. Guess going around a corner, slid the basket, opened the Pantry door and deposited items on floor. There is nothing provided by FR to use as stops, so I came up with this idea, being cheap and simple.
I went to a nearby hardware store and picked up 4 cinch pins of medium size. I carry a portable drill and assorted bit with me, so drilled a single hole in one runner to install the pins into. Now, barring any real unfortunate accidents, this should stop this problem.

Re: Sliding pantry baskets
I've never had the sliding baskets before and I'll tell ya my first impression of them are that I don't really like them. To me, it seems to have less space available than if there were pantry shelves there. I would really like to like them. Can anyone tell me why you like them so much. What am I missing? Maybe after I hear from a few folks I will like them more! Thanks!

Re: Sliding pantry baskets
We don't have the sliding pantry baskets. We bought some baskets at Garden Ridge a couple years ago. They have straight sides and are about 9x12 inches (give or take a little) and about 4-5 inches high. We put 2 of these in the middle of the pantry shelves. We also have tension rods (like the ones that hold stuff inside the refrigerator - or - curtain tension rods) that extend from the back wall of the pantry to the front of the pantry. We can put a lot of stuff - boxes and canned goods alongside the tension rods, and reach what is inside the front basket. In order to get stuff from the back basket it is easy enough to remove the front basket. Sounds confusing, even to me. This is what one of our shelves looks like if you could stick your head in there and look down on the shelf:

Re: Sliding pantry baskets
Great tip , We started taking them out of the cabinet after they hit the floor even after we tried a latch to hold the door open. Thanks again Jim
