Connecting satellite receiver to tv in 2010 Wildcat 29rlbs

Post by rvmama on 4/28/2011, 12:24 pm

Can anyone give me directions on how to connect the receiver to the panel under my tv in the living area?

Obviously, the walk through did not go into great detail. Thanks in advance.

With us it was sort of try and try again. Cable from dish connects on outside of trailer at the cableTV connector. In our entertainment center is an outlet with two coax connectors. That's where the signal comes out after connecting it on the outside. Not sure which one will be your connection. Hook up a coax from one of the connectors to your receiver, then go from the receiver to the TV. If it doesn't work, try the other connector. That's how we do it. The signal doesn't go through our Concertone at all, just goes straight to receiver then to TV. If that doesn't work, I don't know what else to suggest. This method uses just the TV speakers - don't know how to get it on surround sound. Park cable goes through the Concertone if you can use that.

When I hook up my Dish, I have to change the cable hookup attached behind the TV (not tow vehicle) Wink It's really hard to reach and a real pain. Last two times out, I didn't even unpack the Dish, just used the regular antennae. Don't watch that much tele anyway. If you get it figured out, please post. I'm sure there must be an easier way, but haven't figured it out yet.

We use this - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003ANZF4A - for our hookups. A piece of coax goes from the TV to this connector. Three different feeds can be plugged into the connector, and all we have to do is open our TV cabinet (you can see our cabinet in the photo link in our signature below), and flip a little switch on the connector.

We don't watch a lot of TV, but if the weather is bad we want to be sure we can get the weather channel... we also watch news, Fox Business, and Dancing With The Stars. Laughing Mostly, we just like to enjoy the outdoors - we don't have a TV on the outside of the trailer.

Yes, Dan - we have a hookup on the outside. We choose not to hook a TV to it.

Tater - You are one of the lucky ones. Under that clause where they can change when they want to are's was left off. If would be nice to have one. Going looking soon to see if the wiring is there some where.
