Thermosat Help

Post by Portagie1968 on 4/27/2011, 7:23 am

Just installed my Honey well RTH111. I need some suggestive help to see why AC will not work. Circuit Breaker is set. AC worked last summer. Heater works excellent. I wired it like TC did his.

Yellow and Brown to Cool
White to Heater
Green to RH and had to remove jumper to get Thermo to work in Cool
Blue to Fan switch(Auto and Fan) on Thermo

AC will not come on now that Thermo is working in cool. Is there a fuse or circuit breaker on top on the unit that may have poped? Confused and still looking.

I beleive the brown and blue should be for fan should be on g on thermostat and just yellow on y you need to put jumper back on rh-rc with green wire this will only give you high speed on fan only with out toggle switch. Just put on in but add hi/lo switch in mine.Hope this helps

Put the jumper in, messed with some wires, pulled a fuse. made some sparks, and now AC is working. Still trying to do it TCs way. He was able to wire it using the auto/fan switch. Will mess some more. Thank you for the input.

Thank you for all your advice. As I waded thru this mod I begin to learn more about Thermos. Some Thermos the Auot/Fan function works as an on/off switch and u do not need a toggle switch. Some U do need a toggle switch. Just because U here clicking above does not mean it will work unless wired correctly. This thremo has a cool timer on it. 5 minute wait time which can drive U nuts if U forget. Also this thermo needs its batteries in a different spot. They will stay were they are until they die. Anyway I could go on with all the fun. After a few rewires, some sparks, and a few words of encouragement almost every thing works now so we run it to see what happens. When my shakey hands can stand it I will add the toggle switch. I do not like the toggle switch on the thermo so I have room to put it in the wall. Then I will have HI/Low fan in the AC. Agin thank you for all the help. Needed to pick brains to get mine to work. Sign of old age "Brain Freeze". Pictures will be next.
