Wheel Center Caps Upgrade/Mod

Post by Mopar_Earl on 4/17/2011, 11:58 am

My OEM center caps started to rust shorty after I bought the trailer. Cheap chrome! I bought and installed new stainless steel center caps from etrailer.com The stainless caps came with chrome grease caps and I think I'll swap the chrome ones out with the OEM black ones as I think it looks better.

I still need better chrome or stainless steel lug nuts as they are rusting as well.

That was one of the first mods I did when we got our used cat. New ss caps and chromed covers. Made a big difference. Looked all over and the only ss lug nuts I could find were the short acorn type. Wasn't sure if they'd work. Just purchased the chrome lugs and keep a good coat of wax on them. So far they're good.

We had a great Truck Trailer shop in Modesto that moved north. Could have found the nuts there. Now need to find another one.

I bought the ss caps and lug-nuts when I upgraded to the aluminum wheels and LRE tires. Bought from here: http://www.trailertiresandwheels.com/site/1284278/page/563559
