Welcome Happy Trails
We just hook our chairs to the wood hooks that come mounted to the table legs. We have never had a problem, even on gravel roads.

Yeah, ours has the little chair hooks too. Sometimes me use them, but most times we forget. We've never had them bounce around and damage anything or get damaged themselves. You should be OK either way.

Re: Traveling w/ Table & Chairs
Our table was screwed down th the floor of the slide, so as jacandjan, we used the hooks under the table. But we also use a bungie cord to help hold them too.
We only carry 2 chairs, cause there is only 2 of us to sit on them.

I am taking the screws out and let the table ride. Hook the chairs to it by the hooks and go for it.

We had our table unscrewed when we bought it. That way we can move it where and when we want, and we never hook the chairs. When traveling there has never been a problem!!

Hooking the chairs on to the hooks seems to keep every thing stable on the table
.
Ours has never moved.

Re: Traveling w/ Table & Chairs
Never liked those hooks. We finally got a long strap and wrapped it around the chairs (in their places on each side of the table). That worked. Now we've moved our table and it isn't screwed down anymore. We use straps to hold the table down (we wouldn't want it to fall against the window), and still wrap the long strap around chairs and table. Photos are in the picasa photo website in our signature.

Re: Traveling w/ Table & Chairs
As for anchoring them down while riding... we are still trying to figure that out ourselves. We strap the chairs to the table and hope for the best. Our table isn't anchored to the floor either. The dealer said "that tables' not going anywhere". When we got home from our first trip out we opened the door to find that the table had flipped over along with the chairs. Luckily nothing scratched the oven door and nothing was broken. We are in the process of finding the silver loops that hold the recliner chairs in place and install them for the table so we have something to strap them to. Will let you know how that works.

Re: Traveling w/ Table & Chairs
Fufe,
We didn't get the recliner chairs, we got swivel rockers - which are currently stacked in a closet in the house. One of them had the siver d-rings on the floor, and since the other had to be re-located for traveling, we strapped the two together. That made the walkway in front of the door narrow, but still easy to get through. We got the d-rings for our present table set-up with picture hanging supplies at Walmart. Since then, we've seen packages of various sized d-rings at Home Depot or Lowe's. Ask a floor person for small d-rings or 1-inch d-rings. I can't remember what department they were in - hardware, I guess.
As for the recliner chairs not moving ... our sofa never moved in the almost 4 years since we've had the trailer, but on our last trip out, it did. We don't know why, we didn't think the roads were any bumpier than on past trips.
If you are interested in seeing how we fasten things down, there are probably some pictures in our picassa photo album (in signature below).

I got a rocker recliner from Lazy Boy(Captain had to replace FR one) and it never moves unless I am in it and then we rock and roll.

Re: Traveling w/ Table & Chairs
Thanks so much for your feedback. Yes, we had the swivel chairs too and ours are stacked in the shed as well. Those things were the most uncomfortable chairs ever. Always made me feel like I was going to be SPRUNG forward across the room or something! lol We just went a couple weekends ago a bought 2 nice recliners to go in there and What a difference! Thanks Tater for the hardware tip!
