Rancho Adjustable Shocks

Post by ribbs65 on 4/13/2011, 8:29 am

I have had Rancho 9000 adjustables on the truck (2005 GMC 2500HD) for 6 months, before and after the air bags were installed. In all that time I have noticed absolutely no difference between settings 1 thru 9. Is it a gimmick or am I missing something? What settings are you using for tow and non tow (2000lb hitch weight)? I have a set of Monroe Sensatracs I removed when I put the Ranchos on and I am thinking of putting them back on. Please let me know if the Ranchos are better used as a boat anchor.

I think Ranchos are good shocks, but I have a feeling that the air bags are going to limit the adjustability value of your particular type.

You should always keep a little air in the bags, but try to run with 5 lbs or less and see if you can start to feel any difference in the adjustments.

I have Ranchos on my Jeep [04 Rubicon] and Truck [9000s] I can tell on my jeep the difference but not on my truck, I have air bags also on the F250 and I do run 5psi on the bags and I run 90psi in the tires so I rides bad without the WC hooked on

Why 90 PSI in your tires? I'm guess you're running F or G range tires? Max pressure on E range tire is 80. Wildcat's don't have enough pin weight to need that much pressure. I run 70 PSI in my E range tires on the truck and Wildcat.

Sorry, hit the wrong key, 80psi. I have E on F250 and WC. I did run 70 psi for a while then I got Pressure Pro and I was seeing a big psi change going down the road went back to 80
