Ceiling Fan

Post by jackattack on 4/12/2011, 1:27 am

The ceiling fan in living room starts and runs for 5-7 minutes. It then shuts down. It does it foward or reverse, and at all speeds. I flip the on off switch and then on and it runs again for 5-7 minutes. HELP Jack scratch

Does your fan switch get really hot? Like it's going to melt something hot?

Try replacing the switch first, it's cheaper.

At the very least, check your connections. If something is shorting out, things can heat up.

its the switch for sure. Mine did the same thing and I am on my 3rd switch! First 2 were replaced under warranty and the 3rd is sitting on the counter waiting to be installed.....
Just another FABULOUS "feature" from Forrest River!

I'd bet on the switch as well.

Mine went out on the second trip with the Cat and I never bothered fixing it. My switch does nothing and I have thought about replacing the fan with a light fixture.
