Paid $3.99 for diesel today. What happened to the days when diesel was so much less expensive than gas? I know they had to take a lot of sulpher out, but it couldn't have been that much more expensive to refine. Just another rip off from gas companies. The charge that much because they can. I put them in the same category as politicians.

I paid $3.939 for Diesel yesterday.

I also looked up my records for the old 2004.5 Ram 2500. The highest I paid for Diesel Fuel during the 2008 uptick was $4.659 at a BP station in Asheville, NC in July.

Pipe some of the cheap fuel out here.... Isn't it sad that we have been conditioned to believe $3.65 per gallon fuel is cheap... sad, sad, sad.

We are $3.739 for regular and $4.099 for diesel. And gee, I just paid $3.899 on Saturday for diesel.

Looks like my new Dodge might become a lawn ornament and we will start camping out in the lower 40.

Well, no, not really, we'll just not go real far away, and stay longer and eat out less.

To get the sulphur out they have run the product repeatedly through the refining process. It adds cost and time. If memory serves it takes four times to get to today's ultra low sulphur level. If you check out the information on Energy Information Agency you can learn more.

Just got home from my trip to Indiana. Fuel ranged from 3.88 to 4.24 from what I saw. I was lucky to hit the 3.88 @ Speedway. Place across the street was 4.12.

Odd note, diesel in Indiana has a yellow tint to it instead of the normal green tint.

Bill O'Reilly has it right. Big oil companies charge what ever the public will pay. The government gets taxes from every gallon, so they do not have any incentive to reign in the price gouging.

lol!

And since we installed the supercharger on the Vette,,, we fuel up every 40 miles, so it does not seem so bad...$4.57 for premium here.

I live in an area that is rife with oil and gas wells. Many other people with whom I work have also noticed that in the last month a huge number of wells have been shut down. Pumpjacks simply are not moving. This was the same situation during the so-called "Gas Shortage" of the 80"s. Sure, there was a shortage, but it was created right here at home and blamed entirely on OPEC. This sort of thing really burns my bacon. I don't think the oil companies will be happy until we have Euorpean prices here.
