Cut in vinal floor.
DW noticed a small (maybe 1.5" long) cut in the vinal floor right in front of the fridge. Does anyone have any suggestions for making a repair on this? If the floor is free floating, can I glue that one spot without a problem? If I can, what kind of glue should I use?

I think you can use the stuff the lino guys use to put seams together. Don't know what its called but it's like caulk but not as thick. I'll bet a good flooring store near you will have it. Maybe HomeDepot or Lowes might have it in the flooring dept.

Do you think the cut was there when you bought it? Your dealer might fix it. We had a bump in front of our kitchen sink. We have the vinyl that looks like blocks of stone (sort of). The dealer cut out one whole block (about 4"x8") and glued in a good block. You'd have to know where to look to find the repair.
That actually answers your question - you CAN glue that one spot.

Re: Cut in vinal floor.
I install vinyl flooring for a living.
You can even just use an adhesive type caulk like DAP to glue it to the floor. You don't actually have to use vinyl glue.
You should use a seam sealer on it. You will need to determine the brand of flooring to get the right one. Otherwise, there may be some generic sealers available.
If you don't seal it, the cut will open up again. FYI

Re: Cut in vinal floor.
Thank you all for the information. It is appreciated.
We did not notice a cut in the floor when we purchased the Cat, nor has there been any evidence before a couple of weeks ago. When we noticed it, the edges were slightly raised. We have no idea how it happened, but we did have an ice chest on the floor in that spot. I'm thinking there may have been something stuck in or on the bottom of the ice chest. I'll have to check that too when I have time.
