Has anyone towed a 5er with a 2007 dodge mega cab 6.7 diesel? How does it tow? Did you need airbags?

I tow a 2002 Wildcat with a 5.9 2007 Dodge Mega Cab. The Wildcat has a GVWR of 11,250 and I figure I have towed it many times that heavy and the truck was fine. Why do you think you need air bags? I have always felt if you need airbags then you are overweight.

How heavy is your 5er?

Thank you so much for replying. We haven't picked it up yet, so we can't look for sure, but I believe the GVWR is 12,115. We thought the airbags might ease the impact in case we hit a large bump. It would keep the truck from bottoming out. I guess we just thought it would help and were curious if anyone else had been towing similiar to us and if there was a need for airbags.

We have been towing our cat with a 2006 5.9L mega cab and don't notice any sag in the bed without airbags.

Airbags do help on rough roads some, but not completely. My Cat only drops my truck a couple of inches, not really noticeable. But it did boingy boingy pretty good on the cement highways of Houston. The airbags helped a decent bit, but I still need some help.

Haven't towed the Cat with my 2010 2500, but on the 2004 2500 my Cat never bottomed out.

You all were right! Once we got hooked up (that's another story) the diesel towed like a dream! Didn't drop it that much and handled the weight great. I really don't think we will need airbags. Thank you for your feedback.

If you think you need a little leveling out in the future take a look at Timbren, that's what I am going to put on my F250 just to be on the safe side, found them for $195.00 plus $60.00 install. once installed they are maintenance free.... The rig I am looking at has the same gross weight as your.
