Re: Hello everyone.
Thanks for the warm welcome. We have been campers for many years, but this is our first time with a 5er. I must say... we are a little nervous. Have towed TT's but never a 5er.Everyone says pulling a 5er is so much easier. Anyone have any tips or suggestions for a newbee?

Re: Hello everyone.
Welcome to the forum! Congratulations on getting your first fifth wheel!
Don't be nervous about towing it. Sounds like you've got towing experience and you will find the fifth wheel tows like a dream.
As for being new.....hmmm....I remember the first time we hooked up and then parked ours. "Is that it?" went through my head over and over and over....like, "it can't be that simple...can it?" And it is. But as part of the procedure, double check the jaws after hooking up and make sure you secure the latch on the hitch. The worst thing you can do is THINK you've got the king pin in the hitch securely and start to drive away and the nose drops on your truck bed rails. $Ouch$.
Many happy camping trips to you!! Enjoy!

Re: Hello everyone.
To the forum!I also had a TT and then went to a 5'er, what a difference. It towes so much easier and the set up is faster and less work.
As for the hitch you are getting, I have friends that have them and they have no complants.
I did drop mine the first time I hitched up, now I have a bed saver.
If you are carefull you will not have any problems, just double check everything.

Re: Hello everyone.
Wanted to let you all know we are back from our maiden voyage!! We really love our Wildcat, it was a dream to be in. Had a LOT of trouble with the initial hook up though. After the PDI at the dealer it took 2 hours to hook up. Yes, just hook up. They just couldn't get it to hook up correctly. That was supposed to be the easiest part! Needless to say I wasn't very happy. They filed on it some, replaced the head then finally got it hooked up. I really don't know what the problem was. We went on to the CG and had a hard time getting it unhooked when we got there. When it was time to leave I backed up to hook up and it went right in! The ride home was smooth and rather quiet. Not like the ride there. We did put a teflon pad near the kingpin maybe that quieted it down. I must say bringing it home was a dream and restored my confidence. The hitch is a pro series slider not a reese like I thought. Guess we will have to do some more research. Can't wait to get on the road again!

Re: Hello everyone.
to the forum. Glad to hear your first outing was good with the exception of the hitch. Be very careful with the hitch, and like was said earlier double and triple check everything.I hope the issues with the hitch clear up for you....

Re: Hello everyone.
to the forum. Glad your first trip turned out well, inspite of some hitch problems. If you find any problems with your Cat, make a list and be sure to have your dealer fix everything while it is still in warranty. We had a couple bumps in our vinyl that turned out to be staples. The dealer fixed that. We had a big gouge in the bathroom floor that wasn't there when we first looked at it. The dealer replaced the upstairs vinyl completely. There were other minor things on the list that the dealer took care of.I think you must be magicians. Your registration date is April 4, but your first post is April 3. Maybe Phillip can explain that.

Re: Hello everyone.
Sorry to hear you had issues hooking up the camper when you picked it up at the dealer. That was supposed to be the easy part?
However, very happy to hear you had a great first trip out! Here's to many many more! Enjoy!

Re: Hello everyone.
As far as being magicians... I wish I could explain that too! I am still having a hard time findind my way around the site and am still trying to figure out how everything works. I think it has to do with when you select your time zone. I must have done it wrong when registering. I haven't been able to find it since to see if I could change it. I will keep looking.

Re: Hello everyone.
Bruce and Lisa,
Up at the top of the page, right below the cover picture - pick profile - on the profile page, select preferences. Near the bottom of the page is where you change your time zone. I don't think it makes a big difference. You're probably close enough.
