Tow mirror dilemma......

Post by Schleprock on 3/28/2011, 9:12 am

So my passenger side mirror decided to take on my garage wall and lost........

I have been sitting on this computer looking for a passenger side replacement mirror and can not for the life of me find one. Everything I find is for the pair.....

Anyone ever have to buy a single tow mirror? Or am I screwed and have to fork out the $$$ for both??

I am looking for the passenger side, electric, 4.25" manual extension mirrors like this:

Any junk yards in your area? If there's a truck like yours on their lot/field, it might still have a passenger side mirror just waiting for you.

If they are OEM mirrors you should be able to buy them separately from the dealer. I know with Dodge tow mirrors, you can buy them separately from the dealer. Aftermarket Dodge towing mirrors, I've only seen them as pairs.

Right on riverrat, when I was looking for a passenger side mirror for the old Ram I found a ton of singles (both driver's side and passenger's side) on e-bay.

Check at www.rockauto.com. They have mirrors that appear to match the oem for $ 55.79 ea. You can purchase the single mirror. Have purchased from them often and have always had good service. Hope this helps.

Unfortunately they are not stock.... I bought these as advertised
"CIPA" brand tow mirrors. When I got the box in the mail they were Best Top brand mirrors????
They are identical to the CIPA brand and I don't care which brand, I just need a mirror.....
I will get back on e-bay and keep digging.

Appreciate all the responses!
(Kevin, that rockauto.com site is slicker than snot..!! Going to have to keep that one in my favorites! Thank you Sir!)

Have you tried to contact CIPA's customer service? They might be able to help.

Got an e-mail back from CIPA. You can order mirrors individually, you just have to tell the dealer whech one you want!
Sweet!! Going to put a call in for a 70120 and get that passenger side mirror replaced. cheers

No problem, too bad you cannot get it from them directly.

My replacement "mirror" arrived yesterday. Ordered it off Amazon at a really low price....
Shipping paperwork stated CIPA 70120 Replacement Mirror fits Silverado 99 - 02......
Opened the box and low and behold!!! I got a locking metal box that holds files!! scratch
That will look pretty silly on the side of my truck... Shocked

Hope I get the right merchandise next time.
