New from West Virginia

Post by Rusty on 3/27/2011, 1:59 pm

Hello yaw,
Been reading here for a little while, seems to be a good group of folks here. Me and my wife are from a little town on Cabin Creek WV, been here most of our lives, Im 63 and retired, wont tell her age lol.
I just took delevery of our new 2011 Wildcat 313RE, like anything else new, you have to work out the bugs and make it yours, one of the main problems im having is that its not getting enough hot air to the bedroom, but other than that Im well pleased with the unit, we have been camping for years, this is our second 5th wheel, weve had motor homes and tag a longs, but 5th wheels are the best. I had to order a TV that would handle it, i ordered a new F250 super duty with everything I need to tow with, it should be in in 4 to 6 weeks, in the mean time I can set up the trailer the way we want it. Looking forward to trying out the new camper. Hope I can help out with some of yaws problems and yaw can help me out some.

its not getting enough hot air to the bedroom

Could be some trash or a pile of saw dust blocking it.
Or the duct works not sealed good .... Open up the vents and stick a flash light and a camera down there. You never know what you might find.

welcome

Thanks guys for all the welcomes. I have just about got the upstairs heating problem fixed, Ill update you with the results later today or tommorow, To Jack and Sharon, I also stay at Summit lake some, I was up there for three days back in October, I enjoy it up there good fishing and good place to camp, by the way I live at Sharon on Cabin Creek
PS: Admin. the problem is with the volume getting there, Im redoing the duct work to improve it, all the ducts were clear except some factory baffels in the upstairs duct, I removed them and it helped some, im finishing up the duct work today, that should solve my problem

Rusty,

When you update your duct work fix, start it in a new thread in the Maint, repair, section. A lot of people may not see it in this thread that may have the same problem and need to see your solution. Pic's are always great if you get some of your process.

talala;
I bet your truck does do the job, I had a 350 PSD DWD and it pulled anything you put behind it, but this time I got the 6.2 gasser with 4:30 gears, it should do the job in these hills for me, at least I think it will

Welcome Rusty! I was the lone ranger from WV for well over a year. Good to see a couple of neighbors on the forum in the last few weeks. (Rusty & Jackattack)

Jack - I plan to be in the area the majority of May. One full week and another long weekend. I may just stop in and spend a weekend. I usually spend a full week in spring and fall with few long weekends throughout the year in the MNF.

Welcome to the forum. We are new ourselves. I must say, we went to the great state of West Virginia last July and stayed at Blackwater Falls Campground. What a beautiful place!! We heard lots of bear stories but never did get to see one. We would love to go back again. 214 steps up to the falls and 214 steps back down.
Again, welcome!
