Calling all those Michigan Cats!!

Post by 3littlecoasties on 5/26/2008, 12:08 pm

I happen to notice the other day that we have a few more Michiganders here... thumbUp
I know the fuel prices kind of suck right now, but would any others here be interested in doing a Wildcat round up somewhere in Michigan? Of course anyone outside of Michigan is more than welcome too!! Just an idea.

Thanks,
Eric

howdy! i will talk to DW about it. i know we cant accomodate everyone, but sounds like a possibility for us. i dont know where the majority of MI cat owners live but do you have any ideas on a campground?

Sounds like a great idea, just need to find a campground centrally located to make it easy on everyone. Then we can work on a date.

Well, I'm just north of Bay City, I think just about everyone else (and I can be wrong) is from down state area. I'd pretty much go just about any place, so I'm somewhat flexible. I've heard that Port Huron is nice. Stay away from Bay City SP, bad experience there once!! Just need to get an idea where everyone is from and I'm sure we could fine something in the middle that would work. I've also heard that Higgins Lake is nice, we're going to Interlochen (near Traverse City) next month. I think something in August, just before school starts back up and would give time to plan would work. I'm open to ideas and suggestions, so start throwing them out there. wavesmilys

Ok, I did some research, according to the memberlist there is 8 of us here from Michigan. Now there could be more only because alot of people didn't list where they were from, but that's ok. I think that would be pretty cool to see a bunch of Cats all lined up in CG Shooters

There were 6 Wildcats in the Lake Huron Campground this last weekend. Made me feel good to know I have one too.

I have set up get togethers on another forum....your best bet is just to choose a date and go from there. As much as it would be nice...you will never be able to fit everyones schedule in. Pick a weekend and go from there.

Ok, here's an idea.....Howabout:
Sept 5th thru 7th (Friday - Sunday) (should still be plenty warm)
Tawas State Park
There are plenty of openings so we could corall all the Cats together, I can get the key for a private, no cost tour of the Tawas Point Lighthouse and the first round is on me alco

What does everyone think?

See'yall at the Midland Fair in August? I will be there, but without the Cat, we'll stay with the inlaws.

I also found a campground take a look www.lincolnpinesresort.com I haven't camped there before but it looks pretty nice and somewhat centrally located. lots of kids activities and more. just throwing it out there.

I am interested depending on dates and location. Lincoln Pines Resort looks nice but I am open to anything. We do have 2 weekends booked for camping in August but September is open at the moment.

I know this post is old but anyone interisted in something for 2009. We live between Midlan and Bay City but are willing to travel, well within the State. We are booked for the 3rd week in September at the FireFighters Memorial in Roscommon.

We live in Auburn. I'd be open to suggestions. We have 4 trips planned but always have room for more.
LT1404 will know what I mean when I say I'm 1255(black hat only).
July and Aug are pretty open right now.

I'm booked the last two weeks of July going to WDW, but were going to be camping at Indian river rv and resort campground on labor day if that's a possibility it's one of the nicer campgrounds around Michigan. It's located between Burt Lake and Mullett Lake. We're planning on walking the bridge on Labor day they will let you keep your rig on the lot until after the walk if your heading home on Monday.
