Grease Zerks
A word of caution on the grease Zerk. I have been told not to use them because you can over grease the bearings very easily and it will ooze out onto the brake linings. That is what I have been told. I don't use mine.

Re: Grease Zerks
If the seals are bad grease will push through. Also if you're using a electric or air powered gun the grease can push through. Your suppose to replace the seals everytime you remove the drum/hub to prevent the issue but most people resuse the seals. I just do it old school. You need to jack the trailer up and spin the wheel while greasing it so you might as well go ahead and take it apart and check the brakes and bearings. Than pack them. I use a bearing packer instead of hand packing.

You are correct. I have been told not to use them at all. Mainly there for boat trailers that use the same axle. Why take the chance. Get that grease on your brakes. Never reuse the old seals. Very cheap part that may save a big headache later.
What size jack do use to jack up the trailer?

I had them removed; that way there is no risk. The previous owner of our WC had gotten grease on the brakes which cost several hundred to repair. Not worth the risk. I have the bearings repacked at the beginning of every season and after 5,000 miles during a season.

I repack every 4,000 also. Just check and tighten nut if needed in between. Takes about 2 seasons for me to do that. Adjust brakes as needed in between also.
