ELectrical Ghosts
Hope someone has idea where to start looking. At times when I have my interior lights on in the wildcat they will start flashing wildly, it actually looks like a disco in the camper. It does not have a pattern as to when it does it. It just starts flashing. It has done it when I have had a/c running and all the power was being used to when the only lights on was in the living area so I don;t think it is me pulling to much power. I have taken it to the shop and it never seems to do it for them and they can't make it start flashing.
The other day when I was in the cat it did it again and then picked up a new querk, the lights would become extremly bright and then dim down to 12 volt brightnes. I guess what I am asking has anyone ever run into this and if they did what was it or when it starts it again with me what should I check to see what may be causing it? I hope I explained this well enough. If anyone has any ideas please let me know I would welcome any help.

I would start with checking the DC output voltage of the converter.
Sounds as if your voltage is varying.

Could be lots of things. Loose power or ground connections? Converter crapping out? A major intermitted short to ground?
I check the DC output connections @ the converter as well as all the fuse connections. Than check the converter 120V supply wiring connections @ the breaker. A loose connection on either side can cause the issues you stated.

Hello Battchief1,
I'm no expert but I do have a electronics background. If you was only running off the battery I would look for a bad ground. You problem seems to affect all of your lights not just one, so it has to be something in common to all of the lights. That would only be the power shorting out before it seperates at the fuse box, or a ground, the ground would affect all lights. If all the affected lights are on the same fuse? Then it could just be short or ground in that circuit.
Ok, now you have another problem, the only way I can see for the lights to get brighter would be when your plugged in and getting a over voltage from the converter. So if you never have the problem when your not plugged in, and only running off the batteries, that would rule out the possible ground problem, and possible short problem in the 12 power. So I would suspect the converter.
Good luck, and keep us posted.

Re: ELectrical Ghosts
Thanks for all the info to check on. It only does it when plugged in to the shore line. I have never noticed it when running on battery power only, but now I very very seldom just run on battery power. The next time it starts I will start at the converter. When it does start the pulsing it does do it on every light in the camper and the scare lights on the outside too, have never really noticed the TV or anything else doing it but I do think I this past summer I remember the AC pulsing with it not for sure though and have had no reason to run AC yet this year. But thanks for all the ideas at least I have some where to start looking now. I will keep you posted. Oh by the way it is now back in the shop for the concertone radio, I let my dealer know about the radio not working properly and he said to bring it in and they would fix or replace with just a $50 deductible could not pass that up. So hope the power acts up while they have it too. If not oh well.
