Workmen leaving surprises behind
I didn't want to highjack the thread on the blackwater tank flusher, so I thought that I would start this new one.
It was surprising to me to see the amount of construction debris that was left by the FR assembly line in all those spaces that we hardly ever open up. To wit ......
1. The ductwork under the floor. You wouldn't believe the junk that was down there. Piles and piles of wood shavings, sawdust, paper, etc.
2. The area behind the Concertone enclosure. Unbelievable!!!!!
3. Above the ceiling surrounding the hatch openings, A/C unit and ceiling fan penetration.
4. Inside of the island between the chairs in my rear living room. I pulled the top off to inspect the back of the inverter unit and found a real fire hazard there. Sawdust, paper, wood shavings, Romex insulation, wire ends, etc. in a very confined space.
5. And finally, inside the backflow preventer. I kid you not (as Jack Paar used to say). The BFP was packed with sawdust, so much so that the BFP was frozen shut. That was a dilly to dismantle, clean out and reassemble.
Anybody else is welcome to chime in here with their own findings.
With what we pay for these units, is it asking too much for the hired help to clean up after themselves?

Mike
My old Wildcat and yours must have been built by the same crew because mine had the same trash in the same places. I also had more than my share of trash around the refrigerator and furnace area also. Jim

WILDCAT CHRIS............ARE YOU LISTENING? How about passing this on to someone that cares at the factory!
When I have had my houses built, the guys had enough common sense and pride in their work to pick up after themselves. I wouldn't think that this would be too much to ask in the sale of a unit. I have found similar surprises in all of the mentioned places and a few more not mentioned.

Re: Workmen leaving surprises behind
I found tools in mine and I kept them!
I also had the normal things. My shower head was so plugged with sawdust it didn't spray a drop. I found paneling that they cut out and left behind. Some of them pretty big which gives me some spare paneling. Found trim and such as well. Lots of new screws that I kept for spares. My kitchen counter would be covered with sawdust the first few times I'd tow it.
I got to see my trailer before the dealer PDI it and man was it dirty in side and out!! Also they must of ran out of cable/phone outlet cover plates as the wires were hanging out the side of the trailer with no mounting holes. I told the dealer they better do a good PDI cause I was going to spend hours on it myself.
