New Wildcats now have tankless water heater
First topic message reminder :
I just came back from the AC RV show and saw the new Wildcats which are very nice. The one feature I was in love with is the tankless water heater. It is in the same spot the tank is in. In speaking to the dealer he said I could swap out the existing tank for the new tankless system. Anyone else see this yet or have it done?

Well I stand corrected. RV THWH's are the opposite of the ones in the house according to my dealer who has talked to the Head Shed. So now my question is what will a shower be like? A dribble instead of a full spray?

Well, I find all the comments really interesting. We are home from our maiden voyage in our 2011 Wildcat 31TS which has the tankless. We really enjoyed it. We had the opportunity to pull from fresh water as well as shore water. Fresh was certainly acceptable. Shore water was fantastic. I guess it's all in what you like or what you are used to. So far... we are happy with it. In our case the shower wasn't a dribble it was a full spray. I had no trouble getting the shampoo out of my hair like I have in the past.

Re: New Wildcats now have tankless water heater
We'er back from our weekend get away. I guess when we had United RV checkout our tankless they must have increased the burner output, even though the paper work says it's operating normally, and no adjustments were needed. We were dry docking with outside temps this weekend around 90. And was really looking forward to nice shower to wash the dust and sweat off from being outside all day. Well the water temp was so hot that my wife and I could not even take a shower. I went as far as to remove the shower head to get the maxium water flow possible and the water temp was still to hot to shower. Tried to blend some cold water with the hot and this resulted in no hot water at all. I give up, and the wife is pissed. I'm heading out of town on business and as soon as I get back the camper is heading back to United RV and a phone call to Jerry at Girard.

I will be at United RV on Tuesday, April 19th.
I want to inspect your coach and resolve the issue.
Hopefully your coach can be there on Tuesday.
I apologize for the issue and understand your frustration.
I have called United RV Service and told them I will be there next week.
We will get your issue resolved.

After hearing the wife complain all summer about lack of hot water for rinsing her hair, I hope the Tankless Hot water heater lives up to my expectations. Otherwise it will be a long camping season, as we have it parked and are seasonals.

While touring the Wildcat factory, I got to see piles of the tankless water heaters. They're pretty simple and look light.
