Exhaust Brake Install/Mod
I pried my wallet open and bought a Pacbrake PRXB exhaust brake for my truck. It's the poop! Should of done it years ago but just couldn't part with the money till now (I was tighter than bark). Was easy to install. It's air operated and came with a compressor, air tank and air accessory kit. I did add a ball valve to the bottom of the air tank so I can drain water.

Re: Exhaust Brake Install/Mod
Earl,
Nice install. On my old 04.5 I had the dealer install the Jake Brake. In the 4 years that I ran it, I never had a problem with the vacuum pump and the the thing was a dream to use on downhill when towing. The 2010 that I have now uses the variable geometry vanes on the turbo to do the same job. Neat. You'll enjoy using an exhaust brake.

I had a Banks installed on my Ram in 2003, and best investment I had ever made for pulling. It has saved me $$$ on brakes and trannys.

I hardly use my service brakes since the install. I came down a 6% grade in 3rd gear holding 20 mph and had to keep turning the brake off as it was too strong. Was following a big rig and he was doing the truck 20 speed limit. I never touched my brakes coming down and neither did the big rig. Was the poop!
My 93 Dodge doesn't have a brake and when I drive it I notice I don't have it. Or on my 07 if I forget to turn the brake on.
Note, the brake will slide the drive wheels on gravel with a low enough gear when it comes on.

Hey Earl, how long was the install of your engine brake? Does it run off a pulley or is it electrically driven? Was it intrusive to splicing wires and cutting anything?
