Cherokee National enduro

Post by Admin on 2/14/2011, 4:51 pm

Alright you old timer dirt bikers, here we go again and I scored a sweet row draw this time around. Dry weather all week and in the mid 60's low 70's all week . Finally one that fell in my favor. Nice clean trail on the back row so I can cruise and still make it. 70 ground miles, I'm hurt'n just thinking about it. lol!
I think I'm gonna change classes to the 50+C Only about 7 or 8 entered. So If I come in last in that class it still looks good on the score board instead of ,,,,, 20 something place. Suspect

It makes me hurt thinking about it as well. I've got to big rides coming this year just hoping to get my new bike in time. I've narrowed it down to two bikes a Ktm450 exc or Klx450f. good luck have fun. I still hurt from my 68 miles through the woods last fall. ha ha

If you guys would get off those heavy four stroke tanks, you wouldn't be so sore the morning after a good ride. Wink

I'm thinking of hitting our 42 mile loop of tight single track this weekend if the weather holds. I'm so out of shape this winter I'd be better off walking our loop.

Hope you have a fun ride Phillip. Sounds like conditions are prime.

I know what you mean about the TANKs mntman.
A cr125 with a 3.5gal tank would be my weapon of choice but I don't have one. The KLX300 I'm riding now just kinda happened by accident. Which was a bad accident. The KLX is a Tank with a Boat anchor and a parachute tied behind it. Man is it slow and sluggish coming off a KTM400. It was designed for a short person I believe. I know what you mean about outta shape.
Last one I rode was the 4hr race in oct. If I could figure out how to strap my Ipod and ear phones inside my helmet I could ride forever. 6hrs of talking/singing to yourself can drive one crazy. clown

Grover, I had a KTM 400exc electric start and loved it for racing.
It was heavy but you could plow through anything and not worry about it breaking down. Their Bullet Proof.
I'd go for the KTM 450, I guess your riding Motorcross though arent' you ? Thats a lot of bike.

I'm doing the scrambles and the fun rides I don't get on the tracks to much any more that'll hurt and I don't bounce the way I used to.Alot of are club rides the bike has to be licensed and have a head light.

My vote would be the KTM all the way. Anything in the woods and Orange rules. Although yamaha would be a second choice over the kawasaki.

Official results,,,, Click for Jank of the year by my daughter.

Post by Admin on 2/21/2011, 9:49 am

Heres the official results and link to the official page http://www.moto-tally.com/cer/results.aspx

I didn't come in 20 something. I ran just hard enough to get below 20th. lol!

You never know who's gonna be in the 1 day sportsmans class, but theres always some AA,A riders , look at the total time at the end. 1st place less than an hour for a 70 mile enduro. He had to of been running 80mph and I mean it was ultimate tight in the last two sections.
I was on a sunday cruise but still managed to zero all the restarts and even had enough time to fart around at the pauses..... Had a 66 yr old on the row behind me and he was haul'n it. He passed me within 2min of their row start. The guy was in great shape. Me,,,, I just didn't won't to break me. So I'm cruising these days. My boss would rather fire me than have me sit'n out for 6 weeks. I was showing my daughter the video a friend of mine took as he was pit'n for us. " Dad, you should add that song ,,, ' Slow Ride " to this video '. Man I rolled in the floor laughing,,, she's only 9 and a FogHat fan.... headbanger
