Dr. Pepper in winter.

Post by BobnPi on 2/3/2011, 2:58 am

When it's really cold, as an alternative to hot chocolate, we often make hot Dr. Pepper with a touch of lemon juice. Just heat up the Dr. Pepper in a pan with ever how much lemon juice suits you. I use about a teaspoon and DW sometimes likes as much as a tablespoon. Individual taste will dictate how much.

Bob, I was gonna say that is blasphemy to a Texan. But here you are. Now, I really can't imagine hot Dr. Pepper. Sounds akin to ice coffee. However, in the spirit of things (and because I'd never hear the end of it from my kids who I always told "you can't say you don't like it if you've never had it"!), I will try it. I hope I haven't already built up an aversion to it.

Ok my wife and I had one this evening she liked a lot of lemon in hers I was better with just a tad bit. Guess we will have to get more Dr. Pepper.

Grand kids showed up they liked it, the littlest one Jacob wanted it in his sippy cup for the ride home, might be the start of a bad habit Laughing

I've heard of that, but never tried it. One cold evening a few nights ago, I actually thought of it, but figured someone might think I was crazy if I ordered some. So I ordered hot chocolate instead.
