2011 - Jan/Feb - WDW trip
Trip is going well. Drove through light drizzle all day Tuesday. Stayed at Ameristar Casino/Campground in Vicksburg, MS for the night. Wednesday morning while Scruffy was getting the rig ready to travel, and I was stowing gear on the inside, the man from next door came over. I could hear him say "Nice Wildcat." The guys started chatting, and I could hear something like - you're on there a lot. That piqued my curiosity, so I went out to say hello. He mentioned that he reads the Wildcat forum. I asked if he was a member, and he said no, so I invited him to join. He said he can't, he doesn't have a Wildcat. I told him it doesn't matter. Then he said he was concerned about privacy and his identity, so I didn't press. Anyway, it was nice to talk with someone who uses this forum, and what-the-heck, maybe he'll decide to join.
We had good driving conditions from Vicksburg to Bay Saint Louis, MS. We stayed at Hollywood Casino/Campground for the night. My temporary crown (2 teeth) fell out at dinner. It just fell out, I wasn't chewing on that side. Anyway, I called my dentist and I'm supposed to get some dental cement and glue it back. Walgreens, CVS, and other drugstores have the cement. I could also try to find a dentist who would have time to glue it. I'll just get the cement and do it myself. My dentist has tried twice to put in the permanent crowns, and both times he wasn't satisfied with the way they fit, so he's going to go to the lab where they are made and make them himself. I'm hoping they'll be ready when we get back home in mid-February.
Today we had a good drive from BSL to Chattahoochee. We're in Tallahassee West KOA. It's a nice campground nestled in trees. There are open spots where we can aim our sat dish. Tonight we'll get caught up on some TV watching and have dinner at home.

Hi Tater,
Bummer about your teeth, but at least you have having a good time so far.
Other that the drizzle, how has your temperatures been?
We're expecting 2 - 4 inches of snow tonight.

Re: 2011 - Jan/Feb - WDW trip
Tater,
True story!
Several years ago we were vacationing in Marco Island, FL with longtime traveling companions. The DW's wanted to go shopping so we headed to an outlet mall on the highway leading out of Marco Island. My buddy and I were just sitting around in the shade talking while the DW's were shopping when two women hustled on by going to the next store on their route. Following behind them were two little old guys (they were probably in their 70's and my buddy and I were in our mid-50's at the time) loaded down with packages. One was wearing a pastel yellow shirt and slacks and a little pastel yellow pork pie hat. The other was wearing a white short-sleaved shirt and powder blue pants and one of those flat caps that was also powder blue. They were huffing and puffing as they shuffled along trying to catch up to their wives.
My buddy looked at me and said, "Mike, I've just seen the future and it ain't pretty!" I replied, "The only way they're gonna get yellow pants on me is over my cold, dead legs."
Ain't life grand? Sorry to hear about the teeth. Temp crowns are a pain, I guess because they're temporary and not meant to be permanant.
I'm 67 now and I can see those yellow pants trying to catch up to me.

Mike
Those outfits you described sound a heck of lot better than what the wives have these little old men wearing down here these days. There's no way a man in his right mind would ever pick out some of these outfits. Jim

We got to WDW's Fort Wilderness on Sun, Jan 23. We were planning on leaving here on Fri, Feb 4, but decided to stay a couple more days. Now our plan is to leave Ft. Wilderness on Sun, Feb 6.

Re: 2011 - Jan/Feb - WDW trip
Well, we finally had to leave WDW. We're back in Chattahoochee, got up this morning ready to travel, but decided to stay over one more night to avoid driving through several hours of rain. It also looks like we'll be staying 3 nights on the Mississippi Coast because of the weather in Dallas. I guess I'll have time to enjoy the forum for a few days.
Saw a billboard along the highway a few miles back that says there is a Camping World, so we plan on finding it and doing a little shopping. Also want to go into Tallahassee and find a Lowes and/or Walmart. Our electric heater died last night (a knob started to melt), and we want to get a new one.
We anticipated some delays getting home, and did laundry while still in Fort Wilderness - glad we did that.

Sorry to hear you are having to replace your electric heater. So far we haven't needed ours here at Port Richey, FL. Have a Safe Trip home. Jim

I should not have responded to your last post. We have gone from the low 80's to low 50's today in Port Richey, FL, first I broke out the electric heater now have the furnace running first time in 4 weeks down here. Still a lot warmer than back in the Mountains. Jim

See what bragging will get you?
We went to Walmart to get a heater - they sold out in mid-January. Went to Fred's - they sold their last one this morning. Went to Camping World. Bought one, but it isn't pretty. Works well, though. Decided not to drive all the way to Lowe's.

Re: 2011 - Jan/Feb - WDW trip
We stayed in our last campground last night. We're about 3.5 hours from home, and are getting ready to head out.
The trip lasted a few days longer than planned because of the weather at home and between home and wherever we were. It was great, but we'll be glad to be back home.
Now I'll have time to finish working on the instructions and diagram for the drapes.

Somewhere between Monroe and Shreveport? Just curious if this is a regular stop for you because it's a nice place or more of a convenient place to stop? Or maybe both?
