Plane crash in Campground today
Just received word that a plane has crashed into Briarcliff Campground in Myrtle Beech SC on Hwy #17. Lady in camper was killed and husband is in critical condition with burns. the pilot was also killed. This comes from a friend who lives in MB. This happened about !:00 pm.

I've been at that CG before, the sites are really close, I'm surprised only 1 family was hurt.

Terrible news for sure. Prayers go out to all families involved.
Reading the article, it said the pilot was doing touch and go's to keep up his instrument ticket. Evidently, he was alone. I wonder if he put on a hood to practice instrumet approaches and departures as well and suffered from spacial disorientation. Just doesn't add up. He was obviously an experienced pilot if he had his instrument liscense. I'm sure there will be more to this story than is immediately available.

That is so tragic. Our thoughts and prayers to the families and victims.
Here we are right now, sitting in a campground, with not a care in the world.....most likely the people in that campground were feeling carefree at that moment too. How horrible for all who were there at that time.
