sleeper sofa--replace or recover

Post by troyce on 1/11/2011, 3:53 am

Hello, I just bought a 2003 wildcat 27rls 5th wheel and I love it. I am very new to rv-ing but my question is the fabric on the back of the sleeper sofa is a little worn but the mechanisms is great an the cushions are great. I would like to recover it but would it be easier to replace the whole thing? The worn spot is small and not visible but I dont want it to get worse. Any help would be appreciated.

If the worn area is not that noticeable I would leave it as is, and wait a little while because you might find there are lots of other things you might want to upgrade or improve.

I'd wait till it's an eye sore. Might last for years the way it is. You might trade it before it needs recovered. You might yank it out and put in a love seat or two lazyboy's. Go with the flow.

You can contact Kyle @ Forest River Parts 574-206-7600 for Wildcat parts. Kyle was very helpful when I owned a Wildcat. Jim

Beware, shipping is high from Wildcat parts dept. Your local dealer or camping world can help you with blinds as they aren't Forest River items.

Cool, so I can get the blinds at any camper or r.v. place. Like I said, I am new to the r.v. world and love all the help. I love my 5th wheel and want to keep it as nice as I can.
