We got a little snow - enough to make the ground white. It hasn't melted yet, but I think the roads are all okay. Hope so, we're going to the trailer dealer to look at replacement parts. The little plastic thing that holds the entry door open has broken, and I think one that holds one of the storage doors has broken or is about to break.

I would imagine your house in n ga is about 7 to 8 inches of freezing blanket. We've got about a inch of frozen ice that looks like snow here in middle Ga. I talked to friends in Athens that said they have about 7inches . I love the RonJon shop there at coco.

The fun I had on Dec 23, 24 & 25. Tower failure and damage at a communications site due to ice.

You don't count scottz, you live on the top of the world where its supposed to be cold. lol!

Are one of those snow track machines as fun to drive as they look ? Or does the fun factor wear off like any other work unit.

Yeah, but that's a dry cold. lol!

When I got back from the North Slope one time, I was talking about the -60°F temp up there and a friend of mine made that statement about dry cold. I won't repeat what I said to him, but in short, when it's that cold it doesn't matter. High humidity does make it worse, but when you are so far below freezing that the humidity turns to ice fog, it doesn't really matter. It's COLD.

Not what I would really call fun; imagine driving a tractor; that's what it is. Top speed about 19. However, I'm not complaining; these new Tuckers are Cadilacs compared to the snocats I used to use; also, much better for work than snowmachines.

I consider anything below -20, just plain cold. It really doesn't matter how far below; it's still cold.

This was at Douglas Pass, just north of Grand Junction. I have worked on Wolf Creek and regularly drive over Red Mountain. The system I take care of runs the length of western Colorado and eastern Utah.
